Using, genetics, physiological, cellular, and molecular means, we show that Osteocalcin exerts dominant functions in most organs it influences. Maternal or embryonic Osteocalcin affect glucose homeostasis, adrenal and testes steroidogenesis, and cognition in adult offspring.

Have you ever thought about to what extent gestation influence organismal homeostasis during adulthood? In our most recent publication, we addressed this question through the hormone Osteocalcin. https://t.co/FHeDUxcqtT

Like many that look like me, my path to medicine and research was not smooth. I am forever grateful to the village that supported me, especially to my twitterless mentor Wei-li Chang and my other mentors in the Hen Lab(@Rene_Hen) and @KarsentyLab. 3/3

Despite being 100% virtual, this was a great, lively meeting, beyond any expectations! I really enjoyed it! 🤩 Thanks to the organisers, @MiguelCheSoares, @FlyGutLab and @KarsentyLab for making it happen!! (lets keep it alive so that, next time, we can do this person☺️)
Nearing the end of #EESInterOrgan but not before giving the floor to ⭐🎙️ Keynote speaker, Ruslan Medzhitov, Yale School of Medicine 🇺🇸 @RMedzhitov @YaleMed Now talking about ‘Evolutionary perspective on physiological control’ A panel discussion and closing remarks still ahead ☝️

We are so excited to have this work out. It reveals that during a window of embryogenesis the skeleton influences lifelong function of the adrenal gland.
