Well...here goes lol. After months of contemplating, I decided to no longer be active here and will be deleting the mobile app. Admittedly, this wasn't an easy decision for me (more on that in thread). In the meantime, this pic below is where you can find me active. 🧵1/7

So yeah...guess that's it. I'll keep my profile to check my DMs in case anyone needs to reach me. But I'll only be checking it once a week through my PC - the mobile app will be gone from my phone. Thanks for the memories here! You know how to find me - take care....✊🏾 end/🧵

It's bittersweet. I have connected & met a lot of ppl through this app, and my career has benefited in some manner. But the current content on here doesn't make it fruitful for me anymore - nowadays, I just scroll through bots, inappropriate content & random "🗑️" on here 💀 🧵6/7

Right now, I only have FB and 🔵 sky as apps....and only using those two apps (in moderation) has been great for me. I feel less pressured to check and/or post on 20 different apps 😅. I guess you can also count YouTube, but even that I have decreased my usage on there 🧵5/7

So, I needed to cut my time with some things. Since my faith, family, and science are non-negotiable, I looked to entertainment, "hobbies" that I didn't really care for (lol), and other items that zapped my time and energy. That brings us to social media 🧵4/7

My life has become more busy within the last year or so with my new role, adding another child, and other additional responsibilities. Yet, there are other things I want to do and focus on. But as the saying goes, there's only so much time in a day, as well as one's energy. 🧵3/7

The motive for this departure came down to both professional and personal reasons. Yes, the ownership of this app and how it has shaped this platform played a role, but it's not the main reason for me leaving - I had stuck around long after that happened. 🧵2/7

Me to my Lab Manager: "Hey, you're going to laugh, but I need you to order something." LM: "What?" Me: "Those Pee cups." LM: "........w-what?...." Me: "It's for science, I promise." I realized I could've just said specimen cups. Another awkward #NewPI moment for me...🤦🏾♂️😅😅
