Just found out who Heather Cox Richardson was today. No kidding. Had heard her name around but I have a filter concerning ostentatious middle-name users so I never bothered to find out more. I feel like a whole second lifetime of comic material is available to me now.

The Harvard alumni org holding the line on COVID orthodoxy years after the whole game fell apart is pure intellectual Titanic culture. Love how they snub those pesky "teenagers" when they jump ship but serenade them as the conscience of mankind when they sing along with the band.
In a letter today in Harvard Magazine, an alumnus dismissed my political concerns as hardly “productive.” Notwithstanding my views are not solely due to Covid, I wonder whether the continuous dismissal of my generations legitimate grievances will show to be productive for them.

I'd use that map..
We need a map of the major narrative clusters, sized by believers and showing overlap. Then that map needs to be aligned somehow with a map of the states and the interstate highway system. So I know what exits to avoid and where I can safely pull over and eat pancakes.

Carson lasted so much longer than I remember now. They talk about Walter Cronkite as a cohesive force but honestly I think he was a distant second to Johnny.
