@AmyDickman proposes 2 ways out of the 'super-tusker' hunting problem between 🇰🇪 and 🇹🇿: 1) Collaboration betw hunters and researchers to decide on which eles are off-limits. 2) Compensation from anti-hunting ppl and orgs to replace hutning revenue. https://t.co/tVMimyjzdF

@JamesMelville Given that hunting in Africa pays for the majority of reserves and anti-poaching, how would you suggest this should be paid for in light of a ban?

Staff at @zsllondonzoo think #Banksy chose the attraction for the ninth in his animal series as they both spark "joy". They say: "This was an incredible surprise and we are, quite frankly, thrilled that he's chosen us" https://t.co/4XTxZbW57F

@ulrik_gh Not sure this is helpful - the RL data came from so few pops that very hard to extrapolate to a national level, plus most lions in RSA are not wild. Plenty of decline in places like Tz which have hunting: in reality it's more about revenue & governance not TH or not.

UK example: @UKRI_News PhDs looking at wild meat sustainability fall between @NERCscience (wildlife) and @BBSRC (agriculture/food systems) so students can't get funding for research on this really important topic - bonkers!
