Someone just sent this to me because this is exactly what https://t.co/WcSEF2oqeg does! There’s so much (noise) available for children, but not enough to help parents navigate through it. I’m drawing on my PhD, personal, and professional experience to👇🏼

Miss the warmth and brilliance of @PEDALCam and @paulramchandani. Take a look at this @tes interview where Paul talks about the importance of play, esp in the covid-recovery process, and gives us a look into some of the vital research being done around play.
"Learning is really important, but if we’re not paying attention to children’s enjoyment of learning, we’re doing them a disservice." @paulramchandani (@PEDALCam, @Cambridge_Uni) discusses play, education & supporting children in the here and now. @tes

It’s me, hi! 🙋🏻♀️ I had a wonderful weekend celebrating my graduation from @Cambridge_Uni, and my forever home @HomertonCollege had a little chat with me about my time there. Have a read!
“Homerton has somehow always felt like home and I'm so glad I was able to be part of this community.” On graduation day 🎓 PhD student Krishna shared her experience of studying at Homerton @Cambridge_Uni

The second presentation was closer to home, focusing on developing an understanding of parent playfulness in India while highlighting the role of culture on play and children’s development. It also explored families’ experience of COVID-19 lockdowns. @ipascotland @IPAGlasgow2023

My first presentation was on my UK study. Although the study explores multiple aspects of parent playfulness, through my @IPAGlasgow2023 presentation, I decided to awaken the beast that is measurement and discuss two different measures of parental playfulness through video data.

Grateful to have had the chance to attend @IPAGlasgow2023 and present my @PEDALCam PhD. It's been so amazing to be around play champions with a wealth of experience from all over the world (and closer home), reigniting old relationships & forging new ones @ipascotland #conference

@IPAGlasgow2023 @ipascotland Now learning about @TCMUpstate: what a fantastic place - for children and adults! They play an incredible role not just as advocates for play but also as education incubators. Most recently, they've done super cool work on supporting kindergarten readiness in the local community!

Loving the cultural variability in presentations that really captures the universality of play. Currently learning from Bernadette’s work on culture+caregiver beliefs on children’s free play. So closely aligned to what I’ll be presenting on Thursday @IPAGlasgow2023. @ipascotland

Emma Booth of @leedsbeckett University sharing her experience of researching and working with play as a mechanism for supporting families who are serving the ‘hidden sentence’. Simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking to learn about the provisions for play in prison.

From my home (yay Pune!), @SruthiPhd talks about the design of play areas in high-rise residential buildings. It’s so critical to hear about the all the factors behind the scene that influence children’s opportunities for play - sales brochures, local rules and regulations 😭

Coming to us from Denmark, we have Karen Feder of @designskolenkd, telling us about the world’s first program in Design for Play. Super cool to learn about all that went into creating this program! There’s a whole lab for play and design 👀 #IPAGlasgow2023 @ipascotland

Is the internet good? Ideal playground? How can schools encourage play? How can we increase areas for play in Nigeria? How do we get adults to not bully children? Why are girls treated differently to boys? Fox or dragonfly? The kids really kept @lexpsy on his toes @IPAGlasgow2023

After an incredibly warm welcome by @ipascotland and @IPA_World, we’re kicking off @IPAGlasgow2023 with a panel of children asking @lexpsy of @UNChildRights1 all the important questions! Really setting the tone for the conference by keeping children at the heart of all we do!
