The second presentation was closer to home, focusing on developing an understanding of parent playfulness in India while highlighting the role of culture on play and children’s development. It also explored families’ experience of COVID-19 lockdowns. @ipascotland @IPAGlasgow2023

My first presentation was on my UK study. Although the study explores multiple aspects of parent playfulness, through my @IPAGlasgow2023 presentation, I decided to awaken the beast that is measurement and discuss two different measures of parental playfulness through video data.

Emma Booth of @leedsbeckett University sharing her experience of researching and working with play as a mechanism for supporting families who are serving the ‘hidden sentence’. Simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking to learn about the provisions for play in prison.

From my home (yay Pune!), @SruthiPhd talks about the design of play areas in high-rise residential buildings. It’s so critical to hear about the all the factors behind the scene that influence children’s opportunities for play - sales brochures, local rules and regulations 😭
