Thanks to @GrassrootsWS, I have put together a mini-workshop on how to use #WYRMath in the classroom, both in person and remotely. Would You Rather Math is more accessible than ever, and I'd love to have you join me on this journey: https://t.co/35wLWZpx6C

Our annual @desmos art project was a huge hit. I love seeing the projects come to life, from "ah man, we have to have HOW MANY functions?!" to "wait, I have way more than I thought." Here are a few of the good ones.

https://t.co/0O4V8R6DNQ is up and running and I would love some feedback. What do you like about it? What can I do to make it better? How are you using WYRMath in your classroom?

I had a student ask me today, "how would you describe the flavor of Red Bull?" I couldn't give a firm answer on it, as I don't drink the stuff... what say you, my smart people who crave caffeine?

Thank you to Amanda for taking my @GrassrootsWS course about Would You Rather Math! You can take it as well, learning tips and strategies for implementing conversation-based prompts in a math class :) https://t.co/35wLWZHGkK

It was only a matter of time. @JCBanfield and the @CSUB_Baseball squad is getting a big time arm and even better person. Congrats, Big Pim; you’re headed to the Big West.

I guess it’s a “clean the poop that the cleaner tried to clean but didn’t know it was poop because it’s a robot” kind of day. Robots are so cool. I guess we need to upgrade the @iRobot

Soooooo, update: I did this with all 5 periods and even the most timid class was engaged in discussion. Real, relevant, interesting discussion. It took less than 8 minutes to get kids interested and involved in math class.

Tomorrow is Would You Rather Wednesday. It is a great prompt to initiate conversation in a math classroom and I love the discussions that it elicits. Which #wyrmath are you planning to use?! Mine is here: https://t.co/6pEVYqImLQ

If you're like me, you're (ughhhh) prepping for the upcoming school year. While you're planning, check out https://t.co/WmOjqxYDrw for a way to encourage conversation-based math prompts that range in intensity, have prompts for K-12, and are just plain fun to use. #mathchat

One really cool byproduct of the project was that every single student who attempted it learned something new *that I didn't teach them* by asking around or searching the internet. Yay for autonomy and such.

For the second week, once I knew the base of their work was authentic, the activity was left unpaused and they continued to work. In fact, many were upset that I *did not* allow them to have homework. Requirements are here: https://t.co/qkBp5GTEpG

OK, so here are my students' finished projects. Truth be told, this is one of my favorite things to do with students. The attention to detail, as well as the pride in their work, makes it all worthwhile. I paused the @desmos activity after each period the first week.
