I guess it’s a “clean the poop that the cleaner tried to clean but didn’t know it was poop because it’s a robot” kind of day. Robots are so cool. I guess we need to upgrade the @iRobot

Soooooo, update:. I did this with all 5 periods and even the most timid class was engaged in discussion. Real, relevant, interesting discussion. It took less than 8 minutes to get kids interested and involved in math class.

Tomorrow is Would You Rather Wednesday. It is a great prompt to initiate conversation in a math classroom and I love the discussions that it elicits. Which #wyrmath are you planning to use?!. Mine is here:.

One really cool byproduct of the project was that every single student who attempted it learned something new *that I didn't teach them* by asking around or searching the internet. Yay for autonomy and such.

For the second week, once I knew the base of their work was authentic, the activity was left unpaused and they continued to work. In fact, many were upset that I *did not* allow them to have homework. Requirements are here:.

OK, so here are my students' finished projects. Truth be told, this is one of my favorite things to do with students. The attention to detail, as well as the pride in their work, makes it all worthwhile. I paused the @desmos activity after each period the first week.

Thanks to @mathycathy for putting the project template together. For 2 weeks, my students have been actively working on their masterpiece. I am thrilled to show you some of their work in the coming days.

What am I up to these days? Ah, nothin' much. Just walking around the room as kids create these @desmos art projects.

"Hey, sooooo, would you want me to put together a quiz for Tuesday about this stuff?". "Yeah, but *only* the Quadratic Formula. Can it just be problems with the formula?". I love when we get comfortable doing hard things.
