I should be at Mass now, being ashed. Instead I’m in A&E, waiting to find out what damage Covid has done to my lungs. Prayers would be appreciated, please.
Saying ‘for it is shameful for a woman to speak in church’ during evensong in a chapel mostly full of men is quite fun. Especially with my hair in plaits.
I’m currently at a large event with a ‘church’ tent, where I’ve been sitting at a table on my own drinking coffee for 20 minutes, while all of the chaplains have completely ignored me in favour of all the older people who have come in.
There’s obviously no way to tell that I’m an ordinand, so I could be any young person who has wandered in, in search of someone to talk to. How can we claim that the church is actively trying to connect with younger people when they are ignored like this?
For anyone thinking that getting a booster will be too difficult or complicated, I was having dinner opposite a pharmacy and just got my booster between my starter and my main
On this Eve of the Annunciation, I’m delighted to be able to share an announcement of my own: I will soon be moving to North Wales to serve my curacy in Bro Deiniol. God willing, I will be ordained deacon in Bangor Cathedral on Saturday 1st July 2023
Parishioner: Why do we need a faculty to repair the roof?
Vicar: It’s making a big change to the fabric of the building.
Parishioner: It would make a bigger change to the fabric of the building if the roof had a hole in it…
I’m not sure that I would have made it to my ordination without

sorting out all of the last minute logistics and enabling me to have some peace on my retreat. Very grateful for him, and for all who have accompanied me on this journey to ordination

After a lot of tests, it looks like I have an infection - either still covid or another chest infection - but all the other tests were clear and there’s no damage to my lungs! I’m now safely back at home, and resting. Thank you all so much for all the love and prayers
I’m delighted to share my ember card for my ordination to the priesthood this Petertide! Please pray for me, and for the people whom I continue to serve.
I will preside at the Eucharist for the first time at 11am on Sunday 30th June, at the Cathedral.
It’s taken two and a half years, but I have just successfully printed something from the college printer for the first time. How does one celebrate such an achievement?
Many apologies to

and all at St Bart’s - we were trying to turn off the light in the ringing chamber but we think we might have accidentally turned off the organ (and thank you to the very polite verger who came up to turn it back on)
I’ve had the most amazing time at

On 20th May 2020 I submitted my dissertation, having written it without access to a library. To celebrate, I had coffee in my garden with my mum, who I lived with. Compared to what most people are tweeting about what they were doing that day, I was very fortunate.
Great to be

today for an all-female session on ‘ringing heavier bells’. Skill is much more important than strength in ringing, but heavier bells are so often rung by men that it can be hard for women to find the confidence to have a go
Today, I’m celebrating finishing my dissertation arguing that it’s ok to ring bells for secular events by…ringing bells for a secular event

If, for covid related reasons, you’re reading the Gospel from a piece of paper instead of a book, may I suggest that you check what’s on the back of it so that you don’t proclaim that ‘this is the Gospel of the Lord’ whilst holding next week’s calendar out to the congregation?
People with experience of flying with cassocks, can I carry it onto the plane and say that it’s a coat? If I have to put it in my bag then it takes up almost half of my suitcase…
I need somewhere to stay in Cambridge on Friday and Saturday nights this week (18th - 21st March). I’ve left it a bit late to book and now everywhere is incredibly expensive. Does anyone know if any colleges have reasonably affordable guest rooms available at short notice?
