This is actually quite an imperialist attitude. It's okay for Punjabi folk dance to be Punjabi; it can be their thing, it doesn't need to be our [collective] thing.
British culture isn’t just Shakespeare & tea — it’s also reggae, bhangra, Afro-Caribbean slang, South Asian cinema. Pretending otherwise is denial, not tradition.

I'd be somewhat surprised if as many as half of the Church of England's buildings predate the Reformation. In cities, almost all of them were built in the Georgian/Victorian era.
This is my favourite RC talking point. Everyone knows my Victorian Gothic Anglican church was stolen from the Romans! In fact, every time the RCC puts up an ugly building, there is only one culprit to blame: the Church of England. Thieves AND heretics!.
