A wonderful evening celebrating our shared musical and cultural heritage - made all the more special by the presence of Anita Lasker-Wallfisch - we were honoured to be present.
British-German musical ties have always been at the heart of our relations. It was a huge privilege to welcome Anita Lasker-Wallfisch as Guest of Honour as cellist Raphael Wallfisch and pianist Simon Callaghan explored musical affinities between 🇬🇧+🇩🇪 with memorable performances.

Presenting my credentials to His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace was a huge honour & great privilege. It was a fantastic day to celebrate the special 🇬🇧🇩🇪 ties, the historic #KensingtonTreaty and look ahead to the upcoming State Visit of German President Steinmeier.

A poignant and very special moment laying a wreath in memory of the fallen of WWII with Flt Lt Colin Bell DFC and Randolph Churchill on PS Waverley - "We will remember them".
A huge honour and privilege to take part in marking the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII on board the PS Waverley in company with Flt Lt Colin Bell DFC - aged 104! - and Randolph Churchill, great-grandson of Winston Churchill. We owe their generation an incalculable debt.

It was wonderful to welcome 21 baptism & confirmation candidates today from 6 different churches in Bromley deanery. The church was full. Is God on the move? Earlier on we had 17 pre-teens & teens in our youth group. Come along next Sunday at 10.45 and find out more for yourself!

It was a great pleasure to welcome Ambassador Berger and his colleagues to Rochester. We are so grateful for his friendship and support for our partnership with @EKD during his time in London and wish him well for his new post in Poland.
Visit to @RochesterCathed, the second oldest in England with its @TextusRoffensis, one of the oldest texts in medieval English. Thanks to Bishop @JonathanRGibbs, Chair of the „Meissen Commission“ with @EKD in Germany and Dean Philip Hesketh for a wonderful visit and Evensong.

A remarkable speech by Danny Kruger emphasising the Christian roots of English (and British) culture and democracy. It raised lots of difficult questions but undoubtedly issued a powerful challenge to the Church of England to remember its calling to proclaim the hope of Christ.

A very thoughtful, moving and well-informed debate led by the Bishop of London at General Synod - and a very important contribution to the wider discussion on assisted dying:

The Church of England’s General Synod today passed a motion by 238-7 votes, requesting 'His Majesty’s Government work to improve funding and access to desperately needed palliative care services instead of enacting a law that puts the most vulnerable at risk.’ #AssistedDyingBill

They were brilliant - it was inspirational, moving, powerful - one of the best moments of the day!
"Prayer is so important for my generation, known as the anxious generation. . . We are not fighting our battles alone." Listening to some brilliant young people from the North East address General Synod during the presentation on Thy Kingdom Come. Standing ovation!

Both @JonathanRGibbs and @BishopTonbridge have been appalled to hear the news shared today by The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem of another attack on the Anglican-run Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza which has killed 5 people. 1/3
