One thing which is solved by starting your career as a management consultant. Always asked to blow yourself up so clients feel justified in spending bare $$ on a 24 y/o
The âDinner Party Assholeâ test is a solution to a common problem: Startups often struggle at pitching their team, even though for the earliest stage companies, itâs incredibly important to do it well to raise capital â as Iâve described it below Pre-seed- Bet on the team đšâđ»

Another point I tend to make to founders doing this (and Iâve seen many times). What do you do when that âtier 2â investor gives you a term sheet? You donât have time to get Tier 1 from cold to ts. You end up taking it. Make sure youâve at least shot your shot.
Why it is bad advice for founders to practice their pitch with Tier 2 and Tier 3 investors first? @rabois @mike_sheb đ„ is episode coming Monday. đ

This is what Ive found. And still need to become great at using interns tbh.
@daveg They're better editors than writers Better interns than tenured staff 60 to 80% passable every time But never near 100% Unless the person using it is great at that craft and is using it as an intern

literally all I want in life is to marry the love of my life and move into a cute little house in the countryside and eat dinner together every day and build a b2b saas company that vertically integrates in a highly fragmented, low nps industry while generating shareholder value

Fantastic thread. Takes me back to my days of quantitative economics (though big difference is I actually understand whatâs going on in this thread đ)
I know a lot of you wanted a technical breakdown of this meme so here it is! I don't think you will find this level of detail anywhere else so keep reading if you don't want to miss out.

Be careful. Most "products" are, in fact, projects. 9 red flags (and how it should work): 1. You start your initiative by writing a large PRD. 2. Your goal is to implement the requirements (features). 3. You have an Analyst who collects them all in the "initial phase." 4.

When I recruit and someone who has managed to do well but doesnât have a university degree applies, Iâm excited. They skipped 3-5 years of school to do applied learning, are able to make non-conformist decisions and usually have much more experience for their age than others đ«đ«

This is true. Also not very actionable apart from; donât lose đ
Success in startups compounds. When you succeed, great people stay. When they stay, you succeed further. You attract more great people because you are successful, they stay and make you even more successful. The cycle continues.
