My grandfather landed on Sword Beach on D-Day with his two best friends, collectively nicknamed the BBC (Burrows, Beck and Crangles). Hugh Crangles, a catholic from the Falls Road never came home. This is his grave in Normandy. We must never forget the sacrifice.

The Police Ombudsman has formally declined to open any investigation into alleged wrong doing related to the unlawful suspension/repositioning of 2 PSNI officers (Ormeau Rd case). Astonishingly, Ombudsman still wants the law abiding Constable disciplined. Further update tomorrow.

From the outset of events on 5 th Feb 2021 on Ormeau Rd, false facts were allowed to flourish. Calm & ethical leadership defends the truth & those you lead & also defuses tension. The officers are still defamed on line.

It’s worth also reflecting on the Bobby Storey funeral debacle & the Ormeau Road unlawful suspension. Sinn Fein public office holders had no notes & no records yet were making/lobbying for operational decisions. End to end we need an injection of transparency in Northern Ireland.
