I get that Kind of Blue is a classic. A masterpiece. But I can't listen to it. The mute that Miles Davis uses gives his tone a weird buzzing sound that sets my teeth on edge.
after listening to 1 jazz album: Kind of Blue is the best jazz album of all time after 100 jazz albums: Kind of Blue is so overrated, nothing happens, Bill Evans is an atmosphere merchant, Cannonball Adderley is fat, 1000 jazz albums: buh-duhduhduhduhduhduhdadaa, BAAA DUMMM

People used to talk a lot about "wheat belly" or "cortisol fat distribution." There's this idea that you can change where your body puts fat by eating the right things. But I've never seen anyone change their body type. You're stuck with what you got.
Any man can work out and build muscle, but women are (for the most part) stuck with the fat distribution that God gave them - and this is really the sticking point that is making impotent online men very angry. They simply despise the idea that they have to put effort into

I've been listening to this Mahler piece over and over. So good. Just listen to the first 2:30, up to the crescendo. I asked grok what ABRSM level you have to be to play this (I can handle 3 or 4). It says "over 8. Professional." Dammit.

Of late I’ve developed the habit of pretending I’m a medieval peasant attempting to survive winter & it’s made my life a million times more joyful. I take walks in the hills & woods, fall asleep to audiobooks, I’m grateful not to die of plague. We were made for a simpler life.
doing a repetitive hand craft while listening to an audiobook (getting told a story) over the sound of a crackling fire activates my bronze age brain. I enter a flow state

Just bought some shares of the S&P at the current price of 100% higher than its historical P/E. I guess I'm planning on it one day being 200% higher. Sure, why not?

It took about 20 minutes of a coding tutorial to realize I'm not cut out for it. Sucks, bc all the non-coding aspects of the job would suit me just fine.
In theory i always wanted to become a software developer but after several attempts I just wasn’t able to get over the fact that the first like 1,000 hours of learning programming is building junk that is at best worse than everything you could find online in 5 minutes and at

I wonder if this is the start of the Great Boomer Die Off. It would make sense that it would start in the rural towns where the average age is 65.

Something's happening in the Utah real estate market. Couple years ago you could go 2, 3 hours south of Salt Lake and homes were still 500k. But I'm seeing properties at 220k after price cuts and they're still not selling.

But man, when you get both notes in tune, and you find that 0.001 degree angle where the bow hits both strings. Like hitting a drive right down the fairway.

New violin piece has a section of double stops (two notes at the same time). Finding whole new ways to sound bad over here.

There are still some "tells" with AI images, but soon there won't be. The lies they'll be able to tell. Boggles the mind.

How do you back off on ICE without incentivizing the behavior of the agitators? Do something even worse. i.e. - this. (Worse from the perspective of the MN Tammany Hall)
@david_shane Only way he could avoid this would be to back off with ICE but institute some other measure that's even harsher (but without visible targets to protest). idk what that would be, though.

Big fan of the Google maps feature where the zoom in and out buttons move around when you zoom. Makes pressing the same button twice like a mini game.

There are good episodes of Joe Rogan. And then there are episodes where it's just "when did trees start? Jamie look that up" for 3 hours.
