Born and raised scouser, season ticket holder since 1971, been to all 10 European Cup and 4 UEFA finals. proudly married with two great children. JFT97.
I complained to Sky about Tyler’s comments saying Klopp was “grumpy” lately. I said it was an insensitive comment given the loss of his Mother, and couldn’t attend the funeral. Reply today saying the Producers were going to speak to Tyler and remind him of his responsibilities.
To all the wonderful people of Kyiv that we met in 2018 when we went to your City for the Champions League Final, and made us so welcome, please stay safe.
I say this as A Red, this man has beaten his own issues, and does this sort of thing to help others. If anyone is deserving of the Freedom of the city it's
@speedomick
go ed lad, finish the walk.
Absolutely stocked to meet
@MrAncelotti
and buzzing that he took the time out to see me. He was so cool about the man in the man in his pants even cracking a joke, saying, “but why not in the summer” as his eyebrow rose even higher. Thank you
@Everton
Big applause for Aston Villa on showing how to provide a proper guard of honour, and how to applaud properly, and how not to start walking away before all players have passed through. Class Club, it must be something to do with them being a side that's won the European Cup?
This may sound cheesy, but I’m getting my throat in order for Sunday, because despite wearing a mask, I’m not shutting up from the first minute to the last because I’m supporting my team as vocally as I can , and doing it for a lot of good Reds who haven’t been as lucky as me.
I know we have a bit of banter with the Blues, especially
@BLUENOSEBOB1878
but that was a tremendous gesture to include Andrew Devine (the 97th Hillsborough victim) amongst the pics of their supporters who have sadly passed away during the pandemic. Well in
@Everton
@LucasEncore
My son was there over an hour before the start! When my wife and I went to the Champions League final we got to St Denis at 6:35pm, and got into the ground at 10:10pm, all because of gross inefficiency from police, stewards as well as gangs. So your country needs to sort itself.
Look, you know I’m a Red, been going to the match since 1964, but I’m going to shock some people now.
@BLUENOSEBOB1878
just loves a bit of banter, no nastiness or malice, just give him some slack. Also give a break to
@colingeorgerice
as I read about his own personal heartbreak.
57 years ago, actually on 7th March 1964, I saw my first Liverpool game live at Anfield. A 6-0 win against Ipswich, the Saint scored the first goal. Unbelievable, and so lucky, what I’ve witnessed as a Red since then.
So the Paris report is out, and Sky have totally debunked the usual rubbish which is thrown at us. Drunk, Ticketless, arrived late, caused a crush, all disproven, and shown as lies. Well done to
@tedthered77
@JoeblottJoe
and especially
@spiritofshankly
who laid our case, 👏
@Kititout1
As an older Red, my Blue mates idolised the "Holy Trinity" as they called them, (Ball, Kendall and Harvey). These Red murals look great, but I wouldn't mind the Blues putting similar ones up in the City. Time to end this nastiness, banters ok, but some people are sadly toxic.
@Liver16bird
I hope Merseyside Police insist on Napoli meeting at the Pier Head and taking them via Manchester to Anfield for a little ride. Surely taking a photo of ID is a breach of personal data use?
@UEFA
do you know about this, why are we again put in situations like this as supporters?
@Scouser_Les_LFC
@mashed_7
Really sad to hear this, a diehard Blue and great servant to his Club. Also made a sizeable donation when Sean Cox was assaulted at the Roma home game. Appreciation doesn’t have to diminish because someone doesn’t play for your team.
Fifty years ago today I was on my way to Monchengladbach for the second leg of the UEFA Cup Final, 18 years off age and never out of the country before, what memories and an experience seeing us win our first European trophy.
@ShaneMeneer
@gmpolice
would you like to investigate Martin O’Connors Hillsborough comments please as a hate crime. As someone who was at Hillsborough I’ve had enough of these people.
@ged0407
@LFC
As someone who has lived thro both Shanks and Paisleys era's, I can honestly say how blessed we are to have this Manager, who has shown a lot of the best traits of both Shanks and Bob. He also has a similar view on life as Shanks and understands us as a City and it's supporters.
What a boss programme tonight on BBC2. Embodied what we've had to live thro (albeit with some great cups) over 30 years but the Holy Grail just out of reach. Must admit I've had a tear in my eye watching that. Up the Champions, we finally did it! (Now get that parade sorted asap)
@SteKelly198586
Good to know that our only league defeat has caused so much happiness for a change in other people's lives. We really are living rent free in so many heads. Wait till we actually win it, there will be so many heads exploding.
@AmnaAbdul1983
@LFC
Met your Mum yesterday. I was the tour guide who sorted out her faulty tablet at the start of the tour. Lovely lady, so appreciative. Glad she had a great day.
@Redrazor20
@jtomoLFC
found this picture of a few of us in what used to be the Pub in Woolton Village prior to going to Speke Airport to fly to the 2nd leg of the UEFA Cup final against Monchengladbach in May 1973. I was 19 and had never been out of the country.
Some weird people on Twitter, I received a dm this morning from someone saying two other named users had allegedly been discussing me on a LFC forum, and saying I had links to the S** newspaper. As I was at Hillsborough, I can strongly deny any such link, disgusted and angry.
@Anthony29624583
Dixie Dean statue is to Evertonians what our Hillsborough Memorial is for grieving families who have lost loved ones and wish to lay flowers in remembrance. Shame on those that did the flare and its about time some of the younger fans (Blues and Reds) sorted their heads out.
Currently on holiday in Australia, got up at 4:00 this morning g to watch the sunrise over Ayers Rock, and conveniently, listen to the match on BBC Radio 5 literally in the middle of nowhere. Up the Mighty Reds.
Think some people have been spoilt by last season, because this season were not 15-18 points clear. We are top, even if all the teams win their respective games in hand. We will still win this league.have a look at the history of the other 18 titles, we always had hiccups, chill.
Something I've been meaning to do for a while. Collage of the nine European cup finals Jan (my wife) and I have been to, aided by photos from each and our Jess, Adam and some from Barca, Roma, Seville and Salzburg away. £2.59 each 18 x 12 from Costco.
Beware of
@kopnorth
, known as Naby Keita FC
#FSgOut
. He is a troll, and as well as trying to wind me up using H’boro, and saying I’m linked to the S**, I’ve found evidence of others having same treatment, and blocking him. Anyone using H’boro to wind people up is a low life.
England are absolutely pathetic, no system, led by a manager who tried to thro Trent and Hendo under a bus. Supported by boo boys who chant about disliking scousers, they can go and do one literally. Made up for Scotland, led by a captains performance from Andy Robbo.
Happy Roma 77 Day, and Istanbul 05 Day to all of us Reds. Forty four years and sixteen years ago today respectively. Good memories. Up the six time Champions of Europe Reds, we are European Royalty.
Thinking of leaving Twitter, some think they know better than our Manager, trolls comparing events of Heysel and Hillsborough just does my head in. I know you can block them, but some of these people walk amongst us, vote and have kids. Can do without reading such drivel. Cesspit
@Cordyn69
Always do Neil, in fact the charity were volunteers for are hoping to be able to do something for certain children who have been shielding. As regards the tickets, I couldn’t give them away if I wanted to as they are going to a phone only and photo ID is required at the ground.

@RayClem1
Ray, I had the honour and pleasure of meeting your family yesterday, when they visited the tour route at Anfield, after the unveiling of the mural at the corner of Wylva Road. We have always had great goalkeepers, but you Sir, were the best in my lifetime. Stay strong.
Serious question- are mechanics/garages allowed to stay open? What if your cars MOT needs renewing, so that you can then get your car insurance renewed? Some people need their vehicles for essential travel to work, or to get to the shops for food. Genuine thoughts everyone?
@Kian_Thfc
He injured himself mate, doing his usual backing into a player, but Henderson didn’t buy it, and he fell awkwardly. Great striker, but there’s a side to him that I don’t like.
Wife and myself in total agreement, that although we’re going to miss watching the Redmen on Saturday night, we would sooner donate the £14.95 to a good cause, just got to decide which one. This PPV is a thin end of the wedge, and they won’t be getting our money.
Sick and tired of VAR, every club is suffering from it. As an ex-grassroots referee, I suggest Offside- use forward most feet position only, no other part of the body, level is onside. Handball - go back to intent, did the defender “deliberately” move their hand towards the ball?
@shrewsweb
@p_williams_0151
Brilliant that Shrewsbury have come out and stated this rebuke of a minority of their support. It shames not only those few involved of their fan base but also some bigger Clubs who can’t be bothered, or haven’t called out this sort of behaviour for years. Thank you
@shrewsweb
Istanbul 05, and Rome 77. Proud to have been there those nights, "In My Life, I've Loved Them All"
Up the Six Times Champions of Europe Reds, Happy 25th May fellow Reds.
Sorted out all my programmes from 1972/73 to date in the loft. Well it's omething to do in these days of isolation! Re-found some crackers as well. 1971 Semi and Final (my firsts), complete Cup run sixty five, all euro homes up to seventy one, and Reykjavik away in sixty four.
As a Scouse Red,
@speedomick
makes me proud of my City. Freedom of our City, or any other honour is deserving by this guy. Especially with the weather he's had to endure on his journey.
Seriously, I think I’ve had enough of Twitter, when you get a 46 year old Wolves man (who would have been 12 in 1989) calling out “Always the Victims” because his team drew a football match, it’s time to close it down, it’s a cesspit of uneducated hate.
@cupidstunt08
Algebra teacher at our High School in Liverpool used to use a size 10 plimsoll. Lad got his own back one day, when the said teachers new Ford Capri was parked under the windows of the Chemistry lab. Cue Nitric Acid creating a unexpected sun roof in the new car.
Knew Dan Kay, we went head to head for a quiz session on LFCTV once, he was miles ahead of me with his knowledge, and was always glad to see you when we bumped into each other since then. 45 years old is far too young to pass. You’ll Never Walk Alone Dan, one of life’s good guys.
So pleased to have received my copy of the book I won.
@OldLFC_Colour
@MarkPlatt73
@reach_sport
it’s an absolute work of art, and I’m looking forward to reading this on the coach down to Wembley. Many thanks again.
Saddened to hear the news about “The Saint”. The first Liverpool goal I saw scored live was by this great man in 1964 when the Reds beat Ipswich 6-0. Part of Shanks Red Army, now reunited with the great man. Won us the FA Cup in 1965 with that header. Rest in Peace Saint.
It was the Bokelberg Stadium, Monchengladbach, not Munich. This was the first time I had been out of the British Isles and was 19 years old.
@we
flew from Speke to Cologne and then by coach fromColgne to Monchengladbach. It poured down in a thunderstorm for most of the game.
I’ve seen some great sides since the days of Shanks, but to quote a Panorama programme, “I don’t know what they do to the opposition, but by God they scare me”. Soak it in watching this team, because they are very, very special and we are lucky to be alive to witness it.
So the “S**” is at it again, this time hiring a private investigator to “gather information” on Meghan Markle before she got married. The sooner this rag goes into liquidation the better. They have never learnt their lesson from 1989.
We don’t go from a great side to a poor one, just wish we could be in there to get behind them, but these are dark times with this pandemic. However, there is no person I would sooner have at the helm to sort it out (and he will), than Jurgen Norbert Klopp. Keep the faith folks.
Please remember not to post anything which may be deemed derogatory regarding the Hillsborough trials which start today. Silence is the best in this case, and we owe that to the families as well as the 96.
On today of all days, I’m edgy, but if you’re giving our players unconstructive stick after last night, AND especially if it’s in any way, shape or form, racist, do me (and thousands of other good Reds) a favour, go and support some other team, and “unfollow me”. You’re not a Red
Why is it always the opposition were crap when we win? Absolute brilliant that Reds, starting line up justified from Jurgen. Just 13 wins to go, the top four and number seven in Istanbul. That Jota is some signing isn’t he! Time to go into overdrive for the rest of the season.
@angiesliverpool
@COLLYPOOL
@angiesliverpool
Angie, where did you get this video! I was in the Liverpool team that day and have never seen the programme as I was on my way down to Wembley for the game and of course we didn’t have a video in those days, I was in the joker game which we won.
@FootyThreads_
Add to that the near 30 year cover up over Hillsborough, the distasteful remarks from others about people in the City, and you wonder why we feel isolated, and not identify as English? It’s not self pity, these are facts, try reading them.
@TheHoodedClaw66
And the there's two stewards doing absolutely zilch about it, from a Club that lost its Chairman in tragic circumstances, they can mock the 96? I give up, this country's screwed with people like that. It's the likes of this "little Johnny Englander" that's voted for the clown.
Watched the fourth episode earlier tonight on ITV Hub. Really moving, especially the goodbye between Anne and Steve. I was ok until youll never walk alone started playing. Never ever forget the 97. Let down by the establishment so many times, no one held accountable.
Got home from Wolves at 1:30 this morning thanks to M6 being closed either side of Stoke, and the tailback and the diversion, but you know what, it was more than worth it to see the Reds win, great support as well, onwards to Brighton a week on Sunday.
#Imsogladthatjurgenisared
Really disappointed in some Clubs fans taking their usual bile filled hatred and a potshot at LFC. Put away your tribal loyalties for once and realise what level of incompetence is now affecting EVERY team from the PGMOL and VAR.
@LFC
Nice touch in the funeral cortège as after the two funeral cars, there was another hearse, this time in the Everton colours respecting the time he had at Goodison.
You know what’s great ? (Apart from beating Maureen in the last minute),the fact there’s so many Reds saying Hendo, Curtis, Gini, Rhys, (add name here) was man of the match. We are a TEAM, and everyone of them played their part tonight. IF we do stay there, what an achievement.
Quiz question of the future - “What team were dismissed from the Champions League for breaching FFP, but reinstated when the evidence proving their guilt was then deemed to be “out of date”, and they reached the final of the competition that year ?” Answers on a postcard to UEFA.
Just heard on the news about the City fan apparently fighting for his life after last nights game in Bruges. It’s times like this you put tribal loyalties aside. I hope he pulls thro and makes a full recovery. No one should go anywhere, support their team and end up in hospital.

Out of the eight previous finals I've been lucky enough to go to, Kiev (apart from the result) was the most enjoyable leading up to the game. Shevchenko Park was the pinnacle of that day, absolutely buzzing of it, then the "march" singing to the stadium. More of the same please!
Jan and I are delighted to announce that last night our Jess was asked to marry Declan. We are so happy for them, he’s a lovely lad and we’re delighted. Coming a couple of months after our Adam and his girlfriend Katie got engaged, very happy family with two weddings to come!
@FootyThreads_
Search the history of how this City has been treated by the establishment over the last two centuries, including Churchill sending gun boats up the Mersey in the early 20th Century, the army shooting and killing striking transport workers dead, then Thatchers hatred of the City.
The stuff they sell in this shop is well worth having a look at. Just purchased an "allez, Allez, Allez" hat and the quality is top drawer. Have a few shirts like the Shankly tshirt, Euro Cup ticket tshirt etc for a few years now and still in great condition.
Think I’m right, but the ball boy assist for the fourth against Barcelona, scored Liverpool’s fifth for the U18’s today, well in Oakley Cannonier, from “corner taken quickly, Origi” to “shot taken quickly, Cannonier”.
Listen, us Reds are all hurting this morning, but the lads do look mentally and physically drained, and I don’t care what other teams fans say, we are not getting the rub of the green with decisions. In fact the only thing consistent is the referees/var inconsistent decisions.
Apparently it’s the first time that neither Messi nor Ronald’s have been in the Champions League semi finals since..........2005.
2005, also played a German team in the last 16. We can all hope can’t we? Just need a Coronation Street wedding!
Munich away,looked at Stubhub out of interest. 18 tickets advertised for the away section starting at €799 each, most €855, and 4 at€2,440 each. If you're that ST holder/member/corporate who has done this, hang you head in shame, and I hope the club catch you all and ban you.
To all Manchester United fans on twitter - I hope you are all proud of the what Marcus Rashford has done for campaigning to keep the school voucher system over the holidays, and what a letter to this government! This Scouse Red applauds this young mans actions, well in Marcus!
As Reds, we are obviously gutted and disappointed, but if there’s a silver lining, it’s that all the hangers on, doom merchants, FIFA playing know bests, and glory hunters all p*** off and find something else to do, and leave supporting the Reds to proper supporters.
As for the real trophy being at the Etihad, and a “dummy” at Anfield, that doesn’t worry me. People the same age as me will remember when Everton wouldn’t release the trophy in 1964. We improvised and a mock trophy, (now in the museum), The Curlett Cup was lifted.
Up the Reds.
