He is survived by his wife, Dr Mary Dobson, their sons, Richard and William, and his beloved dog, Jimbo.

Professor Peter Johnstone nearly died after he contracted Covid-19 last year - he was kept alive by a ventilator and he was not expected to survive. Today he was vaccinated.
