The most impactful president of my lifetime, and I saw Reagan in person. He earned his victory today the hard way and he has changed our country tremendously. I’m delighted with his support for shipbuilding and proud to be on his team.
I couldn’t be happier for President Trump this evening. The “journey” to get back here (D.C.) over the past few years is indescribable. There hasn’t been much time to stop and reflect, but tonight is special for everyone who always believed, and kept up the FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!.

One thing that has become readily evident is that @POTUS is correct that we need to grow shipbuilding. The maritime industrial base we lean on now isn't large enough to handle even the present demand, we need to expand our orders to other yards that have excess capacity now.

Yesterday I completed my 2nd week working for @russvought in OMB. It's been 2 weeks of drinking from a fire hose of knowledge & process re budgeting, and inputting data re the ships this nation needs, commercial & military. This administration is on task with shipbuilding.

Look where these unfilled jobs are. Workforce has been tapped out in these areas. If you’re going to start a new business or industry, look at where there is excess workforce.
About 400,000 manufacturing jobs are currently unfilled, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. “For every 20 job postings that we have, there is one qualified applicant right now.”.

My friend @ArthurLHerman literally wrote the book on how to do this, and it sits prominently on the top shelf right behind my desk in the EEOB as we in OMB under @russvought's leadership work to support the rebuilding of the shipbuilding industrial base.
America has reasserted its status as the world's leading superpower. Now we have to build a defense industrial base worthy of that status.

Because all those beautiful things come on ships, Joe. Protected by warships made of steel in domestic shipyards. You can’t outsource warships to China. The U.S. Navy can’t guard global trade alone, we need allies. The UK is our greatest naval ally. We desperately need them,.

For the navalists and maritime advocates out there, I've been working for @OMB Director @russvought for one week now and I can say is that his support for @POTUS's vision of shipbuilding and a new maritime golden age is real and enthusiastic. It's a privilege to work for him.
