I left school today, and the wind was blowing--cold and miserable--as I headed to my car about 1/4 mile away. All I could think about were the refugees like this poor child walking for days in freezing conditions. Heart-rendering events make us feel powerless to help.

Wait for it--I had a dr. appt early this morning--same thing PLUS the receptionist was visibly ill (I realized this only after she handed me a pen and form to fill out--ugh!). I then heard her ask the doctor if she could be tested for Covid. She had no mask on either. I was mad!

No, they aren't kidding. 50 years ago, I was laughed at when I reported that my husband had raped and beaten me. They told me that was his right. I still remember that hopeless feeling like it was yesterday. Thank God I wasn't pregnant. They still believe it's their right in OK!

25 years ago--happened to me when I was pregnant with my youngest. He also took my glasses, disabled my car, and threatened my oldest child who fortunately escaped. I hate guns with a passion. I've lost count of the number of students who died from "gun play" accidents.
