The members of the chat even seemed to acknowledge the possibility that someone outside their tight-knit group could discover their messages: “If we ever had a leak of this chat we would be cooked fr fr,” Bobby Walker, a former staffer for @SenatorOrtt, wrote.

A @politico exclusive: @JasonBeeferman and I read through 2,900 pages of an internal chat among Young Republican club leaders. It was filled with racist slurs, gay epithets and gas chamber references:

When POLITICO began asking questions about the chat, we were informed one of its members is no longer employed and another’s job offer was rescinded. The chat offers an unfiltered look at how a new generation of GOP leaders talk when they think no one is listening.

Many of the chat's members already work inside government or party politics, and one serves as a state senator. Over the course of 7 months, they slung around hundreds of epithets and talked openly about factions of the GOP loving slavery and appreciating Hitler.
