@NYCMayor @NYCCFB Board Chair Frederick Schaffer cited the same reasons for denying @NYCMayor the dough: His campaign has not provided requested paperwork, and the board has reason to believe the mayor's campaign broke the law. The board's investigation into Adams' reelection effort is ongoing.

@andrewcuomo @m_jfrench the latter is regularly done to some extent with programs to eliminate the gap — savings mandates handed down to city agencies. This process was done regularly under Bloomberg and several times under Adams.

@andrewcuomo @m_jfrench .@andrewcuomo is talking about how difficult it is to clear old regulations and budget lines off the books. The former is indeed very hard. I've written about the laborious work of a City Hall committee looking to clear out arcane City Council laws (1/2).

@andrewcuomo He also wants to convert underutilized city property into tech hubs etc. Unclear how much conveniently located property ready to be primo office space the city is sitting on. Class B and C commercial sector is struggling. meaning there is already cheap space to be had.

@andrewcuomo In the face this troubling economic picture, Cuomo wants to up borrowing. He wants to create a $1.5B five-boro economic transformation capital fund. (For a sense of scale, nyc is already set to borrow more than $170B over 10 years, so Cuomo's plan would not be a sig increase).

@andrewcuomo .@andrewcuomo is talking about jobs and the economy and referencing a dour NYT report that found anemic recent job growth.
nytimes.com
Fewer than 1,000 private-sector jobs were added, the slowest growth in the labor market outside a recession and the pandemic since 2003.
