Your local GP isn’t an impersonal call centre loosing the NHS money. We are a community anchor. A continuity provider. A clinically-led, cost-effective force for good. Let’s not lose that in the name of transformation. #SaveGeneralPractice .#NHSTenYearPlan #PrimaryCare #GP.

If this plan moves forward without strong, vocal protections for GP independence, it will do lasting damage to the NHS. And it will be resisted.

Let this be clear: GP practices aren’t resisting progress. We’re asking for partnership. Real partnership. And recognition that general practice is not a problem to be solved - it’s the key to making the NHS sustainable.

It’s a big risk - and it’s happening without public debate. Patients won’t realise what’s happened until it’s too late.

You want integrated care? Then start by protecting the very heart of community care - the GP surgery. Not replacing it with hub-led, centralised, impersonal systems. This means less continuity, more bureaucracy, and losing the trusted relationship you have with your GP.

Any plan that sidelines GPs from the table, or sees us as just another provider, is missing the point. We are the gateway to the NHS. Undermining general practice will backfire - on integration, on prevention, on patient access, and on trust.

But change without GPs at the table? That’s a red flag. Transformation without partnership will fracture trust and trigger further workforce exodus.

GPs are not against change. But meaningful change must be co-designed, not imposed. It must protect the independence of general practice, not quietly erase it in favour of one-size-fits-all solutions. Change is welcome. Meaningful change.

This isn’t just about structure. It’s about values. The GP partnership model offers locally accountable, entrepreneurially driven, personalised care, and that matters. It’s not broken. It’s underfunded, overstretched, and now under a deliberate existential threat.
