I was fortunate to be @kalebhorton’s colleague for a while, and to get to know him. He was of the kindest people I’ve encountered, ever, and he also happened to be one of our most talented writers. Kaleb was one of the very best of us, in every sense. This is a loss for us all.

This isn't the odds, it's the stakes.

The right really convinced some people that abortion rights are all about the right to seek an abortion. I want the right to choose — or not — pregnancy. But I need people to hear this: The Texas women who died were just sick. They happened to be pregnant. Now they’re dead.

Racist ideas are often served with humor. The humor allows both the producer and consumer to deny the ideas are racist.
