Thank you @OliviaGieger for a nice report on our story.

Our findings demonstrate how pyramidal neurons guide the development of different interneuron subtypes. Biology never fails to amaze me - a profoundly intricate and adaptive journey culminating in exquisite precision. @GordFishell @artofbiology.
Cortical interneurons learn on the job! Speculated this was true a decade ago! @JJSherryWU and @artofbiology finally provide evidence!

Neurogliaform cells are probably the least studied type of interneurons. My dear lab mate @Su_hang_ has spearheaded the study performing in vivo two-photon imaging of these interneurons, capturing them in action during visual stimuli and locomotion.
A big shout out to @Su_hang_ for her amazing work with me and @LeenaAIbrahim , in identifying and studying the role of neurogliaform interneurons in V1 cortex. Come read about how these regulators of cortical function act in different cortical layers!

Thank you @elaine_sevier for being the best co-author, and to all the nice Northeastern coop students I work with. And thanks for @GordFishell who bought me a cake 🎂😉.
I’m very excited that my PhD work is out! Thank you so much to @GordFishell for all of your support and @JJSherryWU for being the best collaborator, both while I was in the lab and after I left. Check out our work here
