Great week at @ACSMNews so far. We presented new data showing oral contraceptives do not influence disuse or rehabilitation outcomes. If you’re in Atlanta I’d love to connect ✌️

Immobilization studies are… βœ… Amazingly terrible βœ… Super tough βœ… And weirdly fun Huge thanks to our participants, each paid $400 USDπŸ’° β€” how much would it take you? 7/

Why it matters: Cross-education is a simple, accessible, low-risk strategy to protect muscle strength and size during disuse. This is important for female patients, who are more susceptible to disuse-induced weakness and wrist fractures. 5/

Key findings (immobilized arm): πŸ”Ή TRAIN lost less dynamic strength after immob πŸ”Ή TRAIN preserved more EMG activity πŸ”Ή TRAIN better strength recovery post-retraining πŸ”Ή TRAIN lost less biceps CSA and regional lean mass 4/
