Absolute waffle. American sports have conned working people into grudgingly accepting that ticket prices are likely to be well out of their reach simply because demand is high. There should always be a sizeable number of tickets available at reasonable prices whatever the event
World Cup is entertainment, that's not a pejorative. It has social/cultural value that transcends biz, but it's a luxury item. "Prawn sandwich" lament is nothing new. Unless it's all free tix in open lottery, someone's always priced out/excluded. Also, "true" fan is subjective.
