Every 2 months a yimby posts something thats like what if cities invented warehousing the poor in congregate units with very strict rules. If anyone tells them about Rikers it'll ruin the bit.
Cities should be allowed to build housing for adults like this. We do it for hostels, and it can serve as "housing of last resort." Very cheap rent, by the bed. There'd have to be strictly enforced rules if paired with strangers, but it's not impossible.

this is dsa's job, and it doesn't mean throwing people into constant mobilization, but bringing people into spaces where you can think and act politically, and learn how to build the independent working class infrastructure that can beat the rich.
One of the biggest limitations of almost all electoral efforts—including Obama & Bernie's campaigns—is that they dismantle their volunteer armies after election day. Instead, Zohran could actively transform his huge GOTV machine into a deep organizing campaign to win his agenda.

Literally the opposite of how Zohran won. These people can try to brand him a new kind of Democratic leader, but they have no conception of the democratic socialist organization that built this campaign. Leave this party in the dust.
What’s amazing about this is that it’s the same thing that builds successful social movements. You don’t need to be especially well organized or have some massive bureaucracy. You just need a clear and inspiring message of what the goal is and how to get there and people will.
