I’ve spent lots of time with Kate since the election, to reset our relationship with the SG & deliver for Scotland. We obviously have political differences but she has worked so hard to get things done. I wish her well in life away from politics. Politics will be poorer w/o her.
After careful thought over recess, I’ve decided not to seek re-election to @scotparl next year. I’ve written to the First Minister this morning 👇🏽. I will continue to serve the First Minister, the Government and my constituents to the best of my ability until May 2026.

The approval of Berwick Bank offshore wind farm today is a major step towards our offshore wind targets and delivering clean power by 2030. Clean homegrown power is the route to energy security, good jobs and lower bills. That’s what we’re delivering.

This is what is needed. The war has to end. The hostages have to be released. The settlement expansion must stop. The food and aid must get through. Only a two state solution will do.

And it’s great for Scotland.
Previous governments sought a trade deal with India. They could not agree one. The Labour Government negotiated and agreed the deal, signed today. It will benefit the UK economy and give us access to a huge market, growing in power and prosperity.
