071/365 One of the things we never talk about in the academy is the state of our mental health. We imagine we're immune because of our education, status, & position in society. We hide under these lies about us and slowly sink into a mire that we rarely think we have sunk into.

3. We can't expect thm to know it all. We should build them, not to taunt them for not knowin. 4. Sometimes work doesn't come in on time. Do we ever find out or do we simply write them off? 5. We may have been traumatised for our graduate degrees, we should have learnt better

Academics, as mentors to our students, we need to learn a few things: 1. We are dealing with human beings not machines. We can't expect them to churn out results in a minute and not 3 years 2. Human beings bleed, go through turmoil, struggle, lose loved ones.

There will be moments when all he'll breaks loose. When this happens, our attitude will determine if we will come out safely or lose the battle to the storm

@MakerereCHUSS celebrates the man whose name is synonymous with East African writing. @NgugiWaThiongo_ always believed that Makerere made him. We celebrate this legacy and the man who took @Makerere places wherever he went and wrote. Join us on Oct 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm for this!

Today, for my African Novel class, we discuss the disillusionment that came with African independence. Drawing on Ayi Kwei Armah's "The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born," we discuss what went wrong with Postcolonial Africa, & the stench independence was for both Ghana but Africa

I only understand Literature. Please ask me nothing outside this discipline because I only know Shakespeare, Achebe and Kyomuhendo. Ebirala, I'm bleak! Ok?

I remember this guy as a prefect. Then he came to teach me Economics for part of his internship. I next saw him when he was graduating with his PhD at Uganda Martyrs University. The election to Bishop shows that @Kicoba1959 is made of stern solid folks. A heart congratulations!

To Murungi's English Language teacher, while traching the topic of peace and security, a sugar daddy is an older man who attracts girls. Mbu they always have huge stomachs and promise to take the girls here and there. I had a nice bedtime lesson! #DaddyDaughterConversations

Black Tax That thing that makes us think that we are obligated to pull all our family out of the pits of poverty while we lose our mental, financial and physical health. We've got to learn to say NO sometimes. @ArthurKmo will add.

Trust me folks, @NIRA_Ug is the most competent government body. Can you imagine that a week later, they're still crafting the message to reply to my query? 7 days of crafting a reply is extremely creative and thoughtful!!!! Thanks NIRA for this timely silence all this while!
Since @NIRA_Ug did not see this either here or their WhatsApp number, let me post it again. You never know, they might e accused of being competent, finally!
