This is so evil & is a huge reason a lot of Black and poor people do not trust the medical system and pharmaceutical products. I've had doctors attempt to test meds on me that haven't been approved yet. Yes they gave me samples to try & I said no. Cause I was like is this safe?
Depo Povera was denied FDA approval bc animal studies showed elevated risks of breast cancer & birth defects. Despite this, Depo Povera was tested in humans, mainly low income Black women, w/out their consent. After this, Pfizer heavily marketed the shot in low income areas.

Hi. I'm one of the Black women with a tumor from this. ✋🏾 7yrs ago they prescribed it for severe menstrual cramping. I wasn't planning for children and I wanted the pain to stop, so I took it every 3 months. Tumor is benign, but it's given me other *inconvenient* issues.
In case you haven’t heard: Women are suing Pfizer in a class action lawsuit because the birth control shots (Depo-Provera) have been found to cause brain tumors. 1 in 4 women use this birth control. And Black women are prescribed it at double the national rate.
