#Methane from the #Nordstream pipeline seen from space! The leaking pipeline is putting lots of methane into our atmosphere. This data, from @RAL_Space_STFC using @eumetsat's MetOp, shows a red plume of the gas between Norway and Iceland, blown there from the Baltic.

The #NordStream2 gas pipe #methane leak can be seen as a sharp peak in at least in the @SE_Htm greenhouse gas measurement station in southern Sweden. The ICOS network of 150 stations covers the European continent and adjacent oceans. @icossweden
@Frans_Jan Update: at 20:00 local time (18 UTC) we could see a sharp increase in Methane concentrations across all 3 levels
