Here is another Guess Y for you. I’m including a couple of versions of the same context. How many different potential responses can we find for what the Y axis might be? #math #teachers #data

I developed a new math talk routine I’m calling Guess Y? I’d love some feedback. Check out the image and let me know what you think the Y axis could be. #math #teaching #graphs

Came across this visual while going through some old files and thought it is a pretty cool visual continuum. I especially like how it shows the array being used across grade bands. #iteachmath

Thankful to have had the opportunity to attend #SERCC last week. The conversation/study around #groupmetacognition @OISEUofT in grade 9 #destreamedmath stuck with me. Great strategy with beneficial results to support #matheducation @ugdsb

The Ancient Egyptians used symbols to write only unit fractions. For other fractions, they had to find the sum of the unit fractions. For example, 5/6 = 1/2 + 1/3. Can all fractions be represented as the sum of unit fractions? Learn more at https://t.co/1VXMCIIBQn

Handed back assessments, framing them as snapshots of learning, not grades. We’ve discussed intelligent vs. basic failure & the ‘learning pit’—Level 1 means you’re deep in new learning. Does anyone else use this approach? Thoughts on student reactions? #mtbos #iteachmath

Provide students with windows and mirrors in your programming. Windows to look through and see other perspectives and mirrors to reflect who they are. Students need time to do this identity work in the #mathematics classroom - so vital to #CRRP #OAME2024 @OAMElearns
