Sources: Virginia Tech and James Franklin are finalizing an agreement for him to become the school’s next coach. Franklin has won 128 games over 15 seasons as the head coach at Vanderbilt and Penn State. He led Penn State to the CFP semi-finals last year.

HISTORIC HOCKEY NIGHT IN ROANOKE! 🤩 Roanoke outmuscles Peoria 3-1 on Saturday. Austyn Roudebush saved 23 shots in his SPHL-record tying 111th career win, Joe Widmar and Gustav Müller each had 3 points, and Ricky Boysen scored his first pro goal in a game that featured 212 PIMs!

There is absolutely no love lost between the Rail Yard Dawgs and Peoria. Five minutes into tonight‘s game we have a full scale line brawl. The referee sent every player on the ice to the penalty box. 😳 Should be an interesting night. 😀

Pete Thamel told ESPN’s GameDay that the Hokies and James Franklin are in “early stages of talks.” Not exactly what VT fans want to hear but at least everyone agreed it would be a great fit. Fingers crossed.
