The new #Darzi report shows that children from most deprived backgrounds are now 2x as likely to have obesity by age 5, & 1 in 3 has obesity by age 11 in the poorest communities. We need to do so much more to improve affordability, availability and appeal of healthier food.
"Food is often used culturally, particularly in the UK, as a way of showing love and kindness." Obesity Health Alliance director Katherine Jenner says there should be a “cultural shift” away from using food as treats, particularly for children, to stop unhealthy habits.
