Want to know why sport sponsorship matters? Can I suggest you listen to this Whether it's the gambling, sugary drink, alcohol or 'snack' food industries, they blame us for believing their advertising. And leave society to pick up the health costs.

My new book, 'Cutting the Mustard' considers the social & economic changes in the last 50 yrs and how they impacted on football, & #NCFC in particular. Blair & Keegan were right on the money in 1995. You can pre-order the book: Pic: PA Images/Alamy Stock

So pleased you can make it, George. It should be a fun event. Lots of interest already and looking forward to hearing your and others' take on how the commercialisation of our game has affected #NCFC @ffion_.

My Carrow Road debut is coming belatedly - and not because of my football skills. Still, I'm still delighted to have been asked to take part in the launch of Cutting The Mustard by Robin Ireland (@robinHEG). CR, 6th August, 7pm. One for NCFC fans.

The Club World Cup is over. An advertisement for sport as entertainment product. How did Chelsea even qualify never mind win it - now they're £100m+ better off. 'Our' game wasn't always like this. Read 'Cutting the Mustard' to see how football was sold to the highest bidders.

If you’re writing a serious book about football, you need access to research material. I am curious to know whether other football clubs have published such a rich source of data as the Norwich City Historical Trust’s archive.

Half a billion young people will be obese or overweight by 2030, report finds. So sad. And so many people still blame individuals for this and ignore the obesogenic environments young people are growing up in.

Indian pot belly: From status symbol to silent killer. Individual lifestyle changes aren’t going to cut it. Blame the junk food marketeers who are very happy to find another huge market for their products.

Brilliant to see @FantiniPilates installing a Sheffield Stand outside their studio on the Glasgow Southside. Wish there were more businesses willing to encourage their cycle customers @WeAreCyclingUK
