Timely conversations about preferences for care at the #endoflife are fundamental esp in the context of #COVID19. Here's my article on the fundamental role nurses can play, resources included #havetheconversation.

For nurses, the proposed 1% pay rise for NHS staff means a real-terms rise of just £3.50 per week. Please RT if you think that's disgusting.

This is hugely significant. The government's OWN Chief Scientific Adviser disagrees with the Prime Minister's decision on local restrictions. Like @IndependentSage, Sir Patrick Vallance believes #tier3 restrictions will not be sufficient to reverse the growth of #COVID__19 cases
Ooft. Sir Patrick Vallance pretty clear govt scientists support further restrictions: -'We recommended a circuit break in September.' -Tier 3 restrictions 'almost certainly aren't enough'. -Wherever 'R' is above 1 (i.e. most of country) 'actions need to be taken of some sort'.

“Dying in a Leadership Vacuum” is how the New England Journal of Medicine title this devastating editorial, from their entire editorial board. Some of it makes familiar and uncomfortable reading for people in the UK. 1/2

Imposition of 10pm curfew on hospitality industry was entirely avoidable, but became inevitable due to Govt’s shambolic privatised test & trace system. Instead of fobbing me off again or giving misinformation, it’d be good if Health Secretary could actually answer my question.

"There are no gay people in Chechnya" says Kadyrov. Watch @ByDavidFrance's film about the underground Russian network working to save those being hunted down & tortured to death in Chechnya's #LGBTQ purge https://t.co/iStoQ3xZrx via @bbciplayer

A Storyville documentary that lays bare Chechnya's deadly war against its gay citizens and reveals the bravery of those running rescue missions to protect the republic's LGBTQ community.

Stop and search: the synergy between #racism in the British #Police force, the vulnerability of BAME individuals to #COVID19 & police's prioritising safety of it's mainly white officers over public safety.

The lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) among health-care workers in the UK has been an integral part of the debate on the UK Government's failure in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.1...

Karol Sikora and his private cancer centres have featured at least three times on @SkyNews during the covid19 pandemic: on 28/03, 16/04 and 24/04. The company paid for an advert to run on Sky during some of this period.

The rest of the public, whether it’s school governors, local business owners or journalists writing about the presence or absence of new outbreaks, are being fed data that is ultimately garbage, and the people publishing that data know it. fin.

Why are they interviewing an oncologist? If they spoke to any competent Infectious diseases physician or virologist they would know that a spectrum from asymptomatic to lethal is completely normal for many viral diseases (indeed many infectious diseases full stop).
"I've never seen a disease with such a wide spectrum of activity - from nothing, asymptomatic to lethal." @ProfKarolSikora says as the world passes 10 million cases, there is still much we don't know about the virus but "we're getting there." #COVID19: https://t.co/JOJgvXDKT9

Hi @Helen_Whately, Im concerned by the numerous discrepancies in your letter. As Chair of @RCNStudents Committee I would welcome a call to discuss this further so that you can be correctly informed of the contribution #StudentNurses make to the NHS during a pandemic & ordinarily.

If only @MattHancock would. Even though the awful truth is that he will simply be replaced with another pro-brexit ideological doppelganger because that is the only qualification you need for a leadership role with this gov. Competence, accountability & honesty count for nowt.
Time for Hancock to resign. No data on speed of testing, call centers dont work, app doesn't work, no data on isolation, wasted taxpayers money, economy at risk, public health staff doing all the work without investment.
