Yesterday. Back to in-person conferences. Fellow attendee to me in foyer: Where’s the Gold conference room? Me: Sorry, I don’t know. (I had just arrived to venue) Him: Oh. I saw your name badge and figured you worked here. My badge:

Healthcare leaders should be serving their team and patients, not the other way around! I couldn’t agree more with what this @Forbes article by @johnhall had to say on selflessly leading a team. Learn more by reading the full article here:

I talk a lot on Twitter about trauma, acute care surgery, the ICU, prof. societies, being a woman in medicine, & some of my hobbies. But at the end of the day, that is all fleeting & the most important thing that I ever have done, or will do, is be their mom. Unabashedly.

Truly heartbroken to hear of the hate crime that has occurred in my hometown. Struggling to process this absolutely senseless act. Our strong, vibrant, caring and loving Muslim community deserves so much better.

Today I was on an all-female panel for the first time in my career (not counting women’s conferences). It was excellent & my favorite part was that nobody commented on the panel composition; it was all about content. That said, it’s telling that any of this seems remarkable to me
