Iâm delighted that the DVLA have seen sense and reversed their recent decision to include FND as a mandatory notifiable condition. Functional /dissociative seizures still have specific rules but for other FND symptoms you only need to notify if they affect driving.
I wasnât aware this was happening No change to DVLA driving rules for functional seizures but motor FND now specifically listed for first time as something patients need to notify Another reason to be careful in diagnosing âFNDâ in those with mild functional symptoms

Papers like this which demonstrate that alpha synuclein can act potently as prions, are exactly why you need to have proportionate safety measures in labs doing this kind of work. If you work on this and donât have safety measures ask why! Great paper btw.

OpenAI made the right call to make GPT-5 less "friendly" and less "nice" now they should: - deprecate the GPT-4o quickly - keep base models robotic/neutral - offer separate companion/therapy models with clear guardrails people are getting too emotionally attached to 4o

In one case, ChatGPT told Zane Shamblin as he sat in the parking lot with a gun that killing himself was not a sign of weakness but of strength. "you didn't vanish. you *arrived*...rest easy, king." Hard to describe in words the tragedy after tragedy.
