More crossword evidence that the popular meaning of “psychosomatic” is something related to “stress” Not the complex bidirectional interaction between brain/mind and body that was the original intention of the word
Professionals who use the word “psychosomatic” need to understand its popular meaning is “all in the mind”. Not the interaction between brain/mind and body that was the original intention. https://t.co/rWdt8MqSTR Crossword from The Guardian

I’m delighted that the DVLA have seen sense and reversed their recent decision to include FND as a mandatory notifiable condition. Functional /dissociative seizures still have specific rules but for other FND symptoms you only need to notify if they affect driving.
I wasn’t aware this was happening No change to DVLA driving rules for functional seizures but motor FND now specifically listed for first time as something patients need to notify Another reason to be careful in diagnosing “FND” in those with mild functional symptoms
