God can we stop the asinine comparisons between India and China?. China is a full-fledged, continent-sized nation. India is…not Nigeria, but not France either. It’s somewhere in between, so it will function, but it will always lag.

See this is what I mean, the Subreddit consists of quasi-schizophrenic, stream-of-consciousness ramblings about old glories from decades ago. It gives you insight into how aristocrats from the great fallen empires (Mycenae and Hatti) must have felt after the Collapse.
Listening to this book on the Bronze Age Collapse, just getting to the good part. It’s always good to make history relatable through analogies,. But the only example of a post-collapse society remembering a lost golden age, that I can think of, is the Miami Hurricanes Subreddit.

i have steadfastly refused to ever exaggerate my height. this means i have gotten into a lot of weird arguments with guys my height or shorter who insist i am not 5'8 because they (shorter) are 5'8, or, they are 5'10 (same height).

The sister cities of Camas, WA (a former mill town turned into a Portland suburb, boosted by close proximity to Portland, and flooded with California money). Turns out Morawica, Poland also was a former mill town, though it obviously wasn’t as lucky as Camas.
