Incredible @MeeraSyal receiving #BAFTA. Speech inspires every “othered” individual, woman & POC. Highlighting progress of diversity but lack of it in spaces where decisions are made. “those who feel because of sex, class or race their stories don’t matter. They matter.” #BAFTAS

Dover: sympathy for all the people stuck on coaches for hours. The UK asked for an European Union external frontier, similar to the hard borders the EU has with Russia and Turkey, to take effect in Kent, with every British passport inspected and stamped https://t.co/ajKpFqC8rT

There is something uniquely cold and shrivelling about closing down libraries. Closing libraries is a retrograde step - in Scotland, a country so proud of its education and literature - we should be opening them! A poem by Dylan Thomas:

All the Braverman photos show her visiting the building site of Kigali's Bwiza Riverside Estate, as if it were being built specifically to our house asylum seekers....

It isn't. It was being built anyway. It's just a Kigali housing project. And they wouldn't get to live there anyway until after they'd opted to stay and become resident. So the whole thing is just her going "THIS IS WHAT A HOUSE LOOKS LIKE." Super.

.@jessphillips can’t contain her anger at the PM and Home Secretary’s basic lack of understanding around the systems they are responsible for. More from impassioned and knowledgeable MPs who have worked outside of politics and on the frontlines.

Has Sharp resigned yet? Have the police visited Mone yet? Has Johnson been told to pay his own legal fees yet? Have we got to the truth about LebedevJohnson yet? Has Sunak told Johnson and Truss that there will be no resignation honours yet? Or are we happy with BananaRepublic?
