If you saw the v interesting BBC story about the HMS Dasher #WW2 tragedy, Jack Stockford, 21, from Ferry Rd, was an aircraft electrician on the aircraft carrier. Ex-Grange Council School pupil and popular local soccer player, he was a GWR worker, before joining up in 1941.
The mysterious loss of an aircraft carrier off the Ayrshire coast in 1943 - how many bodies were washed shore and are there unmarked graves? I talk to local researcher Noreen Steele and Dame Mary Richardson whose father was on board - coming up on 6pm News #Remembrance
