We can’t vaccinate our way out of the pandemic. We need both: Vaccines AND Public Health (PH) measures. It was barely possible w/ original variant (A). W/ Delta, both PH measures and vaccines became less effective (B). But combined – they may still work. Theoretical model: 1/

It's also interesting that there is a link between viral shedding & severity of sickness to the inoculum given (the amount of virus used to create an infection). The higher the dosage, the higher & longer the shedding & more severe the symptoms. Another win for cleaning the air.

Wales Hospital Mask Mandate (Powys Teaching Health Board, Wales, UK): Mandatory masks for all staff and visitors in hospitals and clinical areas due to rising respiratory infections. This covers 300,000 people in Powys county.

Stay safe out there: ventilate, vaccinate, educate, mitigate. And head to https://t.co/gJNMvjozJ8 to join our renewed calls for BC to restore healthcare mask requirements ASAP, including closing loopholes and making respirators (like N95 masks) the default choice 😷

This is precisely why all matter of infections (measles, TB, influenza A, etc), sepsis and cancers are exploding upward across all age groups. Dramatic transient T cell depletion across multiple T cell compartments, with CD19 B cells (which are required for vaccines to work)
A recent scientific paper explored the impact of mass SARS-CoV-2 infections on Lymphocytes (crucial to the body’s immune system). I noticed the authors had shared the data behind their charts in the Appendix Supplementary materials, so I built a quick dataviz project. 🧵

Why is truth so important right now? Because we are living through global challenges climate breakdown, pandemics, attacks on human rights where facts are the foundation of survival. When lies are allowed to spread unchecked, they create grand delusions.

This is important to understand: Surgical masks do NOT provide adequate protection against infectious aerosols. “Live viruses could be detected in the air behind all surgical masks tested. By contrast, properly fitted respirators could provide at least a 100-fold reduction.”
Research by the Health and Safety Executive in 2008 (“Evaluating the protection afforded by surgical masks against influenza bioaerosols”) categorically ruled out FRSMs as being effective against influenza bioaerosols. That’s *2008* https://t.co/UfDMCYwCTw

Or actually it's not the pathogens that have changed, but the hosts. Repeat covid infections weaken you, even if you've been vaccinated. People's bodies are weaker. So we need to do something about preventing transmission.

What are the chances of us being hit all at the same time by more severe strains of flu, rsv, TB, mpox, strep A and B, noro, entero, adenovirus, cholera, campylobacter, dengue, E coli, candida auris, shigella, gonorrhea, listeria, and chikungunya, eh? That's a bit of bad luck.

I did a school assembly this morning. Yesterday the head messaged me to say, "you might not want to come in, there's a lot of bad flu going round". I went in, as always, wearing a proper mask properly. The head wasn't there. He was off sick with flu.

“Hybrid immunity” often functions as a rhetorical device that hides survivorship bias and reframes avoidable infection as a beneficial immune strategy, when the protective effect is overwhelmingly from vaccination.

This is an excellent point from @1goodtern. In 2020-22, Covid mitigations practically eliminated many other infectious illnesses - so deaths from these other illnesses were far LOWER than expected… …which means Covid actually caused far MORE excess deaths than people realise.
That year those things (flu, norovirus, adenovirus, rsv, para influenza) *weren't around to cause death*. So covid infections actually caused *a lot more excess than people have realised*.

This could help answer «how good is the ventilation/air filtration at your kid’s school?» All the schools forced to close should be the 1st to receive HVAC/Indoor Air Quality inspector. All the schools that didn’t close should share everything they did to avoid #flu outbreaks
