I’ve got bad news. The AI cycle is over—for now. I’ve been an unapologetic AI maximalist since the first time I tricked GPT-4 into writing a working Python back-test for a volatility strategy back in early 2023. I’m still convinced it will take the wider economy years—maybe.

It makes me sick, but this is where we are. I personally think gold and crypto will play equally important but different roles, and there’s a place for both. But when the captain and the officers are piling into lifeboats and telling you which boats, better pay attention.
The intellectually honest approach to crypto is to acknowledge bitcoin’s block reward has no realistic solution but respecting the price action enough to ask why . It doesn’t matter because crypto is an escape hatch for a system that will collapse long before the miners leave.
