I had breakfast with Samantha Walton in her office in West Loop, Downtown Chicago two falls ago. Is it ironic that Sam Walton’s Walmart ran the small main streets out of business and his granddaughter in law’s foundation is giving a billion a year to rebuild rural America?
Walmart already killed your local grocery store. Next up: your local rancher, farmer and dairy. “Vertical integration” = Walmart owning the cow, the feed, the slaughterhouse, and the shelf. It’s not competition against the Big 4 packers. It’s Walmart replacing them.

I’ll put this a different way: if you are right leaning and support this merger on free market principles, I believe your ideology has misguided you into thinking crony corporatism is capitalism If you are left leaning and support this merger, you’re just fucking retarded idk
Those talking about corporate mergers as “private business transactions that have no effect on our daily lives” are super naive. How do you think we have ended up in this place. Merger mania over the last few decades is why we are over a barrel now, with no competition and only

We built a constructed wetland for the wastewater from our on-farm USDA inspected slaughter and processing operation. The water takes 3-14 days to renter the ground after going down the drain. The effluent enters the ground cleaner than 70% of the world’s drinking water.

Director Scott Cooper explains why “Born in the USA” is the hardest Springsteen song to sing, for both The Boss and star Jeremy Allen White. Listen to the full conversation on “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” from @20thcentury on the Filmmaker Toolkit Podcast.

It starts with independent farmers and the food supply. That is what brings the right and left populist movement together. Our country and for sure our rural America need it!
From the ashes of rural America, there is a revival of independent, decentralized, and rebellious culture. Most can’t see it for the despair propaganda cast about by those who would sell hopelessness. There will be books written about the rebirth of America from the inside out.

I kept my mouth shut when good friend of mine Chuck Hassebrook was four points out in the governor race against a family member of one of my customers. Ricketts family own Wrigley and have been good to me. But Dan would be better for NEBRASKA and especially independent ag!
🚨MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 Ok. You've all convinced me. I'm in. I'm running for Senate against billionaire Pete Ricketts In Nebraska. This race represents the foundational battle taking place in America right now: The Billionaire Class vs. The Working Class Who's with me?

This is why I’m committed to fixing the broken healthcare system. A year of healthcare shouldn’t cost as much as a brand new car.
My health insurance in the US. Family of 4. $15,000 deductible. $20,000 out-of-pocket. You can't call this health insurance. This is just to protect against a catastrophe. We are the dumbest country in the world that can't figure out how to fix this broken system.

200 tools × ~500 tokens each = 100,000 tokens wasted and that’s for tools with mediocre documentation!!! Unless you use Radar on Storm MCP… Then dynamic tool discovery is going to cut the token use by 95%.

I’ve traveled across several states the last few weeks and the message has never been louder: Farmers are seeking change more than I’ve ever experienced in my career… a great awakening. Momentum is building and the future of ag is shifting right in front of us.

In @nypost, I argue that the Trump administration’s trade and industrial policies must be matched with a workforce training agenda that’s just as ambitious. "Reindustrialization isn’t just steel and silicon. It’s workers who know how to make things." https://t.co/taqVa5SdSR

"Over the last few decades, the United States didn’t just lose factories; we let entire layers of process knowledge and shop-floor know-how wither." Fix America’s trade-school crisis — and fill the jobs Trump is bringing home https://t.co/DYt7JYCsQO

I was setting about 20 rows from the stage talking to some fellow farmers when Jesse belted this out. Needless to say it caught my attention. The dedication was classic @FarmAid

Hey truck driver friends. What are the possible reasons I’m having trouble with the purge valve leaking on our semi’s Wabco 1200 air dryer? New filter two weeks ago when it was acting up.

We learned yesterday we should have a heated structure to store our horizontal mixer we use for inedible. Couldn’t get it to spin from ice. Makes for a VERY Very long day after harvesting 74 pigs and having to handle the drop manually.

@JRcowfarmer @GGunthorp I thought @GGunthorp meant if CRP was amended to allow grazing WITHOUT giving up the contract payment. If conservation of HEL is the goal, managed rotational grazing has as much or more value than CRP as it is.

@JRcowfarmer @GGunthorp I don't like the current system but if we're going to subsidize grain production, putting the same floor under grazing on HEL acres at least removes the extreme financial motivation to turn it to corn/soy production.

Dan Osborn is right. By mothballing its giant meatpacking plant in Lexington, NE, instead of selling it to a competitor, Tyson is practically committing arson to manipulate the market into a place where cattle prices are low, beef prices are high, and the entrenched meatpackers
I believe Tyson's decision to shut down its Lexington, Nebraska plant instead of selling it is a PLOY to manipulate cattle and beef markets in violation of our antitrust laws. 🧵

My dad was a seed corn dealer growing up. Our customer appreciation night was one of the most fun of the year. Tons of families he sold to, lots of kids my age and friends would come because so many farmed. Graduated college and I sold seed for 5 years, I had 2 customers
In early October, the Main Stream Media was all about blaming the weak farm economy on tariffs and trade rebalancing. They didn’t have it quite right though. Now the real story is rising out of the confusion. People need to hear this take.

Would the US beef cow herd and sheep flock increase if CRP ground could be grazed?
