"We can either have a free society, or we can have a biomedical security state"

So King Lockdowner Gavin Newsom is running ads in FL talking about freedom and planning a presidential run. His supporters will claim his Covid policies saved lives (easily debunked by age adjusted data), but how will they defend the constant hypocrisy? Let's review. 🧵 1/
Former Covidian friend, who used to jog in a mask, to my husband: "Wow, a lot of what we did back then looks stupid now, but we didn't know at the time."
Yes we did. We knew. We told you. You didn't listen. But welcome.
#TeamReality
Just broke up with my hairdresser of 10 years, she wants to continue mask wearing and now demands a rapid test on the day of the appointment. Her choice, but I can find someone who doesn't do Covid theater. We can have two parallel societies now.
Putting together a list of four year colleges in the US that NEVER had Covid-19 vaccine mandates to attend or live on campus. Please help me out by commenting names and locations of such universities, and retweet for reach! Thank you!
@CarilynJohnson
It looks like this isn't even a boy claiming to be trans. Just a boy who doesn't feel up to playing with the other boys. So this is what the trans nonsense leads to, complete elimination of girls sports categories entirely.
In 2020 "Emma Woodhouse" said masks were the hill to die on, that we needed to resist and refuse. I argued with her, I just wanted my kid back in school and thought we could deal with the masks for a short time. Emma was right. I hope she is back here soon.
Son's pediatrician agreed that he(12) does not need the Covid vax, thinks myocarditis from vax is a valid concern, sees no benefit from vaccinating kids as a group and has seen no children in his practice with bad outcomes from Covid. We will keep him as our doctor.
@456trainMama
@GovKathyHochul
OMG this made me cry. These people who work with little children need to just say no to this nonsense. How can they keep doing this to this poor boy and sleep at night?
@BrandonJTreacy
My son (13) had a teacher try to guilt the class into double masking or wearing N95 due to "immunocompromised family member". He just kept saying "no thank you, I'm good". Super hard for a kindergartener though! The teacher should not be asking this of these kids!
@PassaicSchools
Please parents, stand up to this nonsense. Do not mask your child! It will only take a few of you saying NO and they won't be able to enforce it. This has to stop.
To the mom I used to be friends with when our kids were in school together, no I won't accept your FB friend request. I unfriended you over a year ago when, in response to a picture from our trip to FL you commented "where are your masks?"
@Scott_Wiener
"Gender affirming care" is a euphemism for mastectomies, genital surgeries, and cross-sex hormones causing irreversible changes. Children cannot consent to these treatments, waiting until 18 is more than reasonable and not "hate."
This time, it said, buried down the page, "your student SHOULD wear a mask for 10 days." They expected us not to notice the change in language. My son didn't wear a mask today, and just texted me that no one has told him to. I'll take that as a win. 3/end
Cancelled our contract for next year for our son's private school, he will go to public. I had such high expectations for this school, but in the past 2 years they have chosen to cater to the irrational fears of adults instead of putting kids first. 🧵 1/
Advice to parents fighting Covid nonsense at schools: Read and question EVERYTHING they tell you. A couple weeks ago my son's school sent out an email stating that if your child gets an "exposure" notice they MUST wear a mask for 10 days. When I asked why, the school head said 1/
@LauraPowellEsq
I weep for this generation. I went to several professors homes during law school, not everyone agreed with them on every issue and no one would have acted like this. Went to a dinner with Justice Scalia, even those vehemently opposed to his positions shook his hand.
People outside of Bay Area don't realize how things still are here. Covid hysteria in full force. There are many events and activities still requiring masks and vaccine cards to participate 🧵 1/
Why do some continue to say "there is greater risk of myocarditis from Covid than from vaccines"? First, it's not true for boys/young men, but even if it were, how does it matter? The vaccines don't prevent infection, so anyone vaccinated now has myo risk from BOTH vax and COVID!
My son's school announced that masks will be optional OUTSIDE (yes, SF Bay, land of insane Covidians) and he said two girls were hysterical and crying. Some parents have completely broken their kids. But I am fighting for normalcy for them too, maybe more than for my own.
@Ari58394958
If I don't call Lia Thomas "she" I'm hateful but women aren't allowed to say we don't want to be called "cis"? This continues to be an anti-woman movement.
@CDCDirector
My child's "healthcare provider" didn't think kids needed the original Covid vax, pretty sure he's not on board with these untested mouse shots either.
@eyeswideopen92
We will be making the spreadsheet available (No College Mandates) when complete. I think it would also be useful to compare similar colleges with and without mandates to show mandate colleges that it made no difference in illness/hospitalizations/deaths.
In California a Democrat can keep kids out of school for 18 months (while sending his own kids to school the whole time) and win re-election in a landslide.
@CarilynJohnson
Sad. They also keep saying that girls don't get the same level of coaching and training that boys get. I'm in my 50s, my brother and I had the SAME swimming coaches growing up. My daughter had better soccer coaches than many boys teams. That doesn't overcome male advantage
Got the schools weekly "cases" report - a ton- with reminders to stay "vigilant". I have a better idea - they should schedule a big indoor, maskless middle school dance, everyone who hasn't yet will get Covid and we will be done with this shit in a week.
And that is the problem. We are living in different worlds. This guy is getting information from "mainstream" news, most of it is not correct or heavily biased. He's far from the only one. How do we reconcile these different worlds? 6/end
🧵My husband talked to an acquaintance today on a long bike ride. Guy said "I'm the most liberal person you will ever meet." He: 1. thought there was a law in FL that actually said no teacher could say the word "Gay" in a classroom 1/6
My kid's school at the time had a "medical team" with guys like this on it who kept them on zoom for months, then masked, distanced, tested, non-vaxed discriminated against etc. I sent real science and pleaded for reason from day 1. No grace here.
"I was on the board of my kids' school during COVID. I wanted a harsher lockdown policy. In retrospect: I was wrong. The damage to kids of keeping them out of school longer was greater than the risk. But here's the bottom line: We were doing our best. But let's give a little…
Got some inside scoop on Newsom today from someone who worked for Gov. Brown and has been in Sacramento politics for 25 years. Newsom is as stupid as everyone thinks. He's surrounded by yes men who fawn over anything that comes out of his mouth. 1/3
Everyone here in the Bay Area was so happy to take their masks off today!... Just kidding, literally nothing has changed. I was the only one showing my face in four different indoor and outdoor locations this morning.
@MerianneJensen
You must be so proud of her! But why is "the other side" so awful? I can't imagine ever talking like that to someone else's child no matter how much I disagreed with their parent.
@GavinNewsom
Freedom of speech: AB2098 censors doctors' speech
Freedom of assembly: you outlawed Thanksgiving gatherings
Freedom of Religion: You forced churches to close and arrested pastors.
You kept kids (other than your own) out of school for 18 months and close businesses
Freedom state?
@TrishtheDish_7
When actual doctors were calling for "the unvaccinated" to be left to die without medical treatment, I stopped thinking Nazi comparisons were too much.
@fem_mb
I had a letter published in a local paper against boys in girls sports and almost all comments were in my favor, even in SF Bay Area! When normal people learn of the insanity that is happening they are almost always on our side.
@dropinandsmack1
@PhilHollowayEsq
@amyklobuchar
My kid had to wear one 6 hours a day for 2 years, an extra hour or two on many days while playing soccer or football in the heat. Yelled at if it slipped below his nose. But I'm sure you thought your comment was super clever.
that this was required by the county. She sent me a screen shot with the bottom cut off where it stated that this policy was only "recommended." When I sent her the full screenshot from the county's policy, she went silent. Then yesterday, we got another "exposure" notice. 2/
Another assignment for son’s 9th grade Health class. How are questions about sexuality, religion etc. not private info? And of course he is 100% the Oppressor, how is that supposed to make a kid feel?
My son's woke former private school is having a special dinner for "Hispanic/Latinx families." Not a cultural celebration where people joyfully share their traditions with all, but an event open only to people who "identify" as a certain race/ethnicity. How is this progress?
My son has been in school for 3 days and I just got a notice from the district that there was a case of Covid-19 reported at his school. So parents are not only testing, they are REPORTING POSITIVE TESTS TO THE SCHOOL IN 2023. I tried to opt out of notices but I can't.🤯🤯
Will I ever again have any respect for people like my friend who yesterday posted a FB rant about "how hard is it to just follow protocols and wear masks and not go to parties" FROM A SKI RESORT IN TAHOE?
Four years ago was my son's last day of elementary school, he never even got to say goodbye after being there since K. No science fair, field day, musical, grad party. Had a "drive by" graduation in June. I'll never stop being bitter and angry about what was done to kids.
Just got an email from the school not only bringing back masks for all but also urging families to "do their part to minimize risk of Covid spread" in their personal lives. 9 more days of crazy left, hope I make it.
@legallymom2
Even if this were all true he doesn’t explain why the University should have any role in a private medical decision since he admits the vaccines don’t prevent Covid.
@MattWalshBlog
Maybe they should have done a balanced piece and actually explained what a 14 year old bio girl has to do to have no breasts and a deepening voice, and what the long term effects of these treatments are.
@AmerAcadPeds
What study was that? The one where the masked kids didn't have to test? Stop lying. Masks worn by kids in school didn't change virus spread anywhere. And why do we care if kids get an occasional cold?
Mask mandates hurt local businesses. Every time I think about going out to do some Christmas shopping, I can't stand the thought of browsing in a store under a hot, sweaty mask, so I stay home and make Jeff Bezos a little richer.
Newsom wants to be President, badly. But he also wants everyone to like him, which is a tough spot for a politician. He's thin skinned and will crack if criticism of him gets real. He can't relate to real people at all, and likely doesn't stand a chance in middle America 3/3
@whstancil
I have no idea about
@sarahbeth345
's finances, but I do love the new language where someone like her who got the Covid vaccine is an "anti vaxxer"
@statomattic
@txsalth2o
My husband has a friend (who used to jog in a mask) who loves to say "in retrospect" and "but we didn't know then" even though we DID know then and people like him wouldn't listen to us.
It is undisputed now that the Covid vaccines do not prevent spread of the virus. Two FDA commissioners resigned over booster approval, yet wine and theater people feel they are the true experts when it comes to this medical decision. 7/
Listening to the hearing on SB 1479, the billion $ school testing scam proposed by
@DrPanMD
. HUNDREDS of hard working CA parents calling in and who drove to Sac in opposition. On the pro side? A testing company, a Berkeley school board member, and 5 random callers.
How many teen boys had their hearts damaged because they took the shot in order to play sports? How many girls are still dealing with unknown effects of menstrual changes? When can we start the trials?
#Nuremberg2
🚨Public record emails show the Biden administration wanted to “leverage” school sports and activities to coerce vaccination amongst students.
“..we have seen leveraging athletics and extracurriculars as a way to boost you vaccination as an effective tactic across the county.”
This 50something man, a scientist with teen kids, accused my husband (who only watches sports on TV) of "getting information from Fox News" (Actually he gets most of it from me!) I sent some info for him to forward to the friend. 5/6
@ShiraDoronMD
@MonicaGandhi9
I'm sorry, this article makes no sense. You acknowledge we have no human data on the bivalent booster, don't know who would be helped by it, but everyone should get it anyway because there "might" be a benefit? We are still a long way from restoring trust in PH with that message
5. Thinks the KKK is still running rampant through the South. 5. Had never heard of the Cass report, did not believe that England is stopping the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in kids. Does not think trans is a social contagion. Said he would "research it" 4/6
@GavinNewsom
“I believe in immunizations....However, I do legitimately have concerns about a bureaucrat making a decision that is very personal.”- Gavin Newsom 2019. Maybe that guy could explain this to you.
I also have received 2 friend requests from the HS classmate who I unfriended after her rant in 2020 about seeing pictures of HS grads standing next to each other without "distancing" and how terrible the parents were that allowed it.
@LadySpaulding11
Horrifying. My daughter will be applying to grad school in a year and we just got into a fight because she said she won't eliminate schools based on vax requirements. She's not vaxxed and would have to get FOUR shots to go to one of these. I told her we won't support with $ then.
2. Did not know that the bill actually prohibited talk of gender and sexuality in the lower grades (and agreed with that) 3. believed that DeSantis was banning books. 2/6
Other than those long time hangers on, everyone else who works for him can't stand the guy and have either quit or want to quit. His wife has A LOT of power over him. As we have seen, he has no real convictions and everything he does is what he thinks is politically expedient 2/3
@ClownBasket
I still wonder about the baby in my mom group that died in her sleep 2 days after her 2 month vaccines. The anti-vaxxer mom in the group thought it was due to the shots, I thought she was nuts. Not so sure any more.
Even the Covidians know that vax passes don't keep anyone safe, so why do these anti-science policies continue? Is what they really want two separate societies so they can feel more virtuous than those not allowed to participate? /end (Please add more places with these policies!)
4. Did not believe that there was a book in local middle school ("This Book is Gay") describing graphic sex acts and suggesting that gay kids use hook-up apps to meet others. (Friend: "Have you seen this book" Husband "Yes, my wife got it removed from the middle school" ) 3/6
@Jackie4LAkids
@LASchools
Kids are not pawns in your anti-science game. Get the masks off all kids now at let parents make their own decisions regarding their kids' health.
@GavinNewsom
Just mailed my daughter’s signed recall petition today, she’s home from college in a free state and sees how bad CA has become. Even Gen Z hates you!
@DoctorAnarchist
The food thing is also so that if your child has an allergic reaction you will know which food caused it. Shouldn't the same be done for vaccines? If there are four shots given at once and the child has a reaction, no one will know which shot caused it.
It is a relief to be done. But if anyone is looking for a school that puts kids last...with masks, weekly testing, vaccine passports, silent lunches on rainy days, limited social events and apparently a goal of Zero Covid, there is an opening here in the SF Bay Area. 7/end
While the school talks of nurturing the creative mind, inspiring a love of learning, design thinking, problem solving.. when a crisis was faced, they lived none of these values. There were no creative ideas to help the kids have a more normal school experience. 2/
@RisaBHeller
eww... no thanks. "Everyone is masked, rules are enforced" and "mood is fabulous" do not go together. I would LOVE to take my family to NYC to see Broadway shows, but only when there are no masks or vaxports.
Covidians, please post pictures of your super fun gatherings today where you all sit around 6 feet apart in your N95s staring at each other with no food or drink. Bonus for negative rapid tests on the table.
This means that to gather indoors safely, a vax/booster requirement – while better than nothing – isn't very reassuring. To do indoor gatherings safely, it’s really about good masking (& no indoor eating) and ventilation; adding pre-event rapid testing offers additional…(22/25)
@unheardparent
Sounds minor but 1. when they cancelled son's baseball in March 2020, and 2. when my son's beloved camp in Jan 2022 said they would require vax/boosters and I had to tell him he couldn't go. Seeing my boy SO upset both times was heartbreaking as a mom.
So Newsom supporters, what say you? Can you defend his lockdowns, school closures, vax and mask mandates etc. when he never believed that any of these things were necessary? He hurt children, destroyed livelihoods, caused untold suffering in CA. He should NEVER be president. end/
@AaronChalfin
Much of this has to do with legacy admissions also. The Bay Area private school we took our son out of has a 30%+ Stanford admissions rate (vs 5% generally.) But large % of these kids have parents who went to Stanford.
@Laurie_Garrett
Wow, California, the state with the most mandates and longest school closures sure did great!.. oh wait... your NPIs were all for nothing. Worse than nothing, they caused lasting harm.
