Excited to share our latest study in @SciReports! We uncover a novel neural mechanism that may explain how animals locate their food stashes—without relying on memory. Our work sheds new light on brain function and cognitive mapping. https://t.co/BokugY5f4A

I may have just jinxed my grant proposal by accidentally including a picture of a black cat. DM me if you're interested in studying feline behavior. #blackcat #cats #animalbehavior

Neurons are like these amazing creatures that are capable of extraordinary things. I love it when we uncover part of how they do this. https://t.co/j9nvyatRtr

Abstract. Our neurons seem capable of handling any type of data, regardless of its scale or statistical properties. In this letter, we suggest that optimal coding may occur at the single-neuron level...

We made a small motorized door for our mice that blinks to warn them when it's about to close (and yes, the video is in real-time - we gave them plenty of time to "take the hint") ❤️🐭

Brains use cryptography! Would love to hear your opinion about our new preprint "The Hippocampus uses cryptographic principles rather than plasticity to enable animals to secretly cache and retrieve their food" https://t.co/hZuAr8Gifp

I am also super excited that the paper came out exactly on pi day (my lab's room number is also 314...)

Why computers can understand animals better than humans? We have a cool new paper that tries to explain just that; including a roadmap to building a translator from animal behavior into intelligible human concepts. https://t.co/9A5u8jmOmy

"Proof by intimidation" or the advancing of an argument by confusing the reader with jargon and obscure math. Always thought this to be a bad habit until today when an editor rejected my paper for being "too descriptive".

Cool idea! Deep neural networks at the single neuron level
David has released code and data of our work "Single cortical neurons as deep artificial neural networks" Visit the links he provided and join our efforts to come up with more accurate and simpler models - to help better understand individual neurons and the brain

Glad to hear that some software archeology of my code helped :)
@mpi_psychiatry @WeizmannScience Special thanks to @ForkoshOren, whose tracking code still survives the test of time, as well as to @jalapic for the open source "compete" package ( https://t.co/n5b0v8Llj9) and for all the work on social hierarchies in mice
