Wind is starting to howl in San Francisco.
Ok, everyone ready out there? The weather between now and Friday is going to be a rough ride. We've just issued our first LSR's for wind gusts +60MPH. One from Point Reyes and the other on south end of Big Sur. We will all feel the impacts, stay safe out there! @CAwx

The brightest aurora I’ve seen in NorCal. Photograph made along Dry Creek Rd. in Healdsburg, with the iconic Timber Crest Farms barn. #kentporterphotography @NorthBayNews #substorm #Auroraborealis #northernlights #CME

Northern Lights are visible across Northern California right now (where we are getting breaks in the clouds) thanks to a severe geomagnetic storm underway. This video from Modoc National forest. Watch live: https://t.co/4S3hjNs02c

Without that sign at the right, who would have thought that this trail was the preferred crossing of the Sierra for over 100,000 emigrants and adventure seekers. The Johnson Cutoff Trail (also known as the Placerville Route or Lake Tahoe Route) was a key branch of the California

On Oct. 25, 1913, the All Blacks, New Zealand's national rugby team, came to Berkeley on their North American tour to play @CalVarsityRugby. The Bears lost 31-3, but reveled in being the first team to score against the mighty All Blacks on the tour. From the Blue & Gold Yearbook:
