This is the line outside the Oakland Coliseum right now for tonight’s

BREAKING: Almost all of California has been removed from the extreme drought category on the new drought monitor this morning. The Bay Area sees huge improvements, with most of the region now in the moderate drought category.
A rare Blizzard Warning has been issued for parts of Southern California (first one issued in decades). The mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura County will see wind gusts to 75 mph and 2-5 feet of snow which will make it the largest snow storm since the 1980s.
BREAKING: For the 1st time in more than 3 years, most of the Bay Area has completely wiped out the dry/drought conditions on the latest drought monitor. Nearly 64% of California is now out of the drought (dry category is not considered drought, only moderate or greater).

in Kansas City showing the tornado moving through Lawrence, KS on its way to Linwood. That is a massive tornado. Chopper pilot estimated it was a mile wide.

4 years ago I bumped into Joey in a bar. Last week, as our friends watched nearby, he asked me to marry him. I love this guy so much! We’re engaged!! ❤️❤️👬🍾💍🥳
Attn: Tahoe-bound travelers on EB I-80. It's patience time with traffic being held at various locations up the hill starting at Drum due to multiple spinouts. No ETO Here's a live look at blowing snow & stopped traffic on Donner Summit.

NEW DROUGHT MONITOR
Exceptional drought category has been completely removed from California. Bay Area sees improvement too. Santa Clara and Santa Cruz improve to the moderate drought category. Extreme drought category shrinks.
San Francisco and Oakland are seeing historic rainfall creating an incredible mess and San Jose has seen barely more than a light shower. Could there be a better example of our microclimates.
CHP reporting 100s of protestors are on the Bay Bridge shutting down westbound traffic into San Francisco. Not a single car on the western span upper deck into SF when it should be packed right now for the morning rush
Likely the reason we felt this earthquake in San Francisco even though we are 70+ miles away from the epicenter is because it looked to occur on the San Andreas Fault. Which then rippled north into the City.
DROUGHT UPDATE
Exceptional Drought has been eliminated in the Bay Area and across most of California. Most of the Bay Area has improved into the D2 category of severe drought. Given the favorable snowpack additional improvements may be warranted for California in the coming weeks
M5.0+ earthquakes are pretty rare in the Bay Area. In the past 30 years we’ve only had 3 others. Back in 2000 a M5.0 in Yountville, 2007 a M5.6 struck Alum rock and the M6.0 in Napa in 2014.
DROUGHT UPDATE
All of the Bay Area is now drought free and most of the Sacramento Valley has been removed from the drought. Statewide only 28% of the state is in a drought, down from 36% last week and down from 99% of the state at the start of the water year.
BREAKING: Protestors have shut down the Golden Gate Bridge this morning. Folks in Marin County advised to go the long way...Richmond-San Rafael Bridge down to the Bay Bridge.

For those outside California doing stories on our drought this morning just a little context. We are coming off of 3 years of awful winters where we barely saw half of our yearly rainfall. The last 3 weeks have been incredible for improving our drought, but we still need more.
In the last 73 days, San Francisco, SFO, Oakland Airport and Santa Rosa have now seen more rain than we saw during last years entire water year (Oct 2020 - Sep 2021).
Growing up on the east coast, I never understood how people got into the holiday spirit without snow and frigid temps. Lemme tell you 70° and wearing shorts under California sunshine 4 days before Thanksgiving puts you in the BEST spirit 🙌 ☀️ ❤️
For context, the largest city in the Bay Area just experienced it’s hottest temperature in recorded history that goes back to the 1800s. 1 million+ people (many without A/C) felt 109° today. Wow.
It is fair to say yesterday's storm was unprecedented. We've never experienced a March storm as strong as the one we just went through. Pressure dropped to 984.4mb, beating the monthly record of 990.2mb.
