Research integrity issues like fraud, plagiarism & retractions can put the public interest at risk but don’t always get attention in the news. We are looking for journalists who report on these issues to participate in an interview for a new study on watchdog science journalism.

Loved this nuanced take on our recent research exploring how audiences (mis)understand the word "preprint" when they see it mentioned in the news. TL;DR: They (mostly) don't. Check it out @NewsfromScience 👇

Great summary of recent research on public perceptions of preprints, featuring a cool new paper by @FleerackersA. 📰 Goes beyond our earlier work by also using qualitative methods, revealing very interesting (and worrying) results. Insightful read!

I have spent 6 yrs studying preprints. In that time, the way we use and communicate about these studies has changed dramatically. Concerns about misinfo are real. But in addressing these concerns, we cannot lose sight of what makes preprints, preprints. #openscience
