Incident 🚨 🐶 Tonight we’ve been to Caldewgate to rescue Bruno, a spaniel puppy, who was wedged 3 feet down between two walls just 7 inches apart. After an hour of the crew cajoling and breaking render, Bruno was finally freed. Stuck between a rock and a hard place as they say.

Great Cross border BA exercise tonight with Longtown, Langholm and Gretna. Understanding the differences between the neighbouring fire services enhances our skills and ability to provide a stronger and safer outcome. Thank you to SFRS for organising a great night.🔥🚒

🚨 Incident 🚨 At 7pm last night crews from our station, @CarlisleEast and @longtown_fire were called to a cow stuck in mud in the Solway on Burgh Marsh. Working alongside @HMCoastguard from Burgh we successfully got the cow out at 9pm. 🚒🐄

HUGE thank you to everyone who attended our Station Open Day on Saturday. We raised a magnificent £1939 for @firefighters999 , and we thoroughly enjoyed hosting everyone who attended.

Station Tours and Demonstrations from our crew are still going ahead at our Open Day on Saturday 👀 Why not visit both 🤷🏼♂️
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances the station tours & PSU displays have had to be cancelled for our open day. We will still have displays from @policedogunit as well as opportunity to meet officers, try on some of our kit & take a look at our vehicles.

Danni completed the course in 5 minutes 59 seconds, Jen completed it in 4 minutes 23 seconds, and Ella is currently leading the female competition, having completed the course in 4 minutes 14 seconds!! A great effort by all! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Make a splash this summer! All schoolchildren aged up to 16 years old from the Cumberland area can go for a swim for only 10p over the school summer holidays. The discounted scheme has been put in place with the support of GLL and Wigton Baths Trust.

Incident 🚨 An nice early start today for us, Brampton and @CarlisleEast with a barn fire between Banks and Birdoswald at 5am. Crews were on scene until 9am. 🚒🚒🚒

Busy night shift for the crew last night: Carlisle East, Carlisle West and Longtown appliances were mobilised to the River Eden to reports of someone in the water, where they assisted a person to safety.

At 10.20 today we attended a lorry fire on the M6 northbound between J41 and J42 alongside @FirePenrith and it’s water bowser; and @CarlisleEast and it’s ALP. Crews worked hard to fully extinguish the blaze before the motorway was finally fully reopened. 🚒🚒🔥

We can confirm that a second boy has sadly died following an incident where a group of teenagers got into difficulty in the River Eden at Carlisle on 26 May. The 14-year-old passed away in medical care in the early hours of today. https://t.co/IQjsP3AdxM

Earlier this week Green Watch visited the bay in Denton Holme to show people how to use a throwline - so they can take advantage of the emergency throwline that’s been installed there. We’ll be doing more water safety this weekend near the city’s rivers. Keep an eye out for us!🚒

Crews are currently battling a reignition of a protracted incident involving wildland, near to Hethersgill. The fire involves pete and scrubland over a large area. Carlisle East, Carlisle West, Brampton, Longtown, Penrith, Keswick, Siloth and Appleby are in attendance.

The water may look inviting but even on a warm day the water will be cold. It doesn’t matter if you are a strong swimmer. Jumping into the water to cool off can lead to cold water shock, which can result in drowning. #BeWaterAware
