A week ago, the IHC put on hold the ruling asking govt to set up a commission to look into alleged misuse of blasphemy laws. Aggrieved families wish to talk about their plight tomorrow. Islamabad administration hasn't yet given permission. Denial of basic right throws dim light.

On the killing of 7 protestors in Tirah, several papers didn't report it today. Others reported that protestors were attacked by 'Khawarij'. Dawn front page byline report says, "Security men fired on the crowd". Unable to upload report on X. A measure of the times we live in.

Convictions based on references to "provocative speeches" are problematic. In fullness of time, the court of people also pronounce verdicts in such cases. Those verdicts are enduring because they are based not merely on judging the accused but also judging the accuser.

Deeply distressing. @sakhtarmengal is one of few voices in Balochistan that speak for parliamentary democracy & federal structure. Alienating them is not doing service to the federation.

Condenn enforced disappearances. Deeply concerned about arrest of @MahrangBaloch_, other BYC leaders, extending remand unlawfully. Talk with estranged Baloch youth. Don't harass. Come out of denial mode, admit disappearances is a fact, address it. #EndEnforcedDisappearances.
